Seeing as the thread has been moved already, I say Resident Evil is the best zombie video game because it's the only "zombie" game I recall ever playing. I generally only play fighting and racing games.

I've gotta say that I think Dead Rising is probably my favorite zombie game. I just loved the ability to go wherever I wanted when I felt like it, and the ability to play around killing zombies instead of focusing on a story.

My second favorite would probably have to be Left 4 Dead, but only on co-op. It's a lot of fun to play with friends, but I didn't have much fun playing by myself. Resident Evil was better than Left 4 Dead on single player.

And I still do have high hopes for the game that this forum was started for, Project Zomboid. It's still a long way from being finished, but when looks like it's gonna be quite an incredible game once it's finished. Especially once some kind of co-op mode is implemented.

I totally agree with the fact that Resident Evil series being some of the greatest zombie games of all time, not just in terms of the amount of enemies but,  in  storyline and game play alike, any zombie game that I had played before Resident Evil 5 automatically became my least favorite. .Two thumbs up for Resident Evil

Best Zombie video game for me hands down is Castlevania Aria of Sorrow. I know it's based of the super natural but there are Zombies in it and plus Vampires are a form of the Undead. In the original Lore they were exactly like Zombies. If that doesn't count then I say Dead Rising 2 as I'm not a fan of Survial Horror, beat RE4 and RE5 didn't really like the gameplay.

I play DayZ and I think it's really fun. They're making it a Standalone soon, so that'll be cool. The game is full of hours on end fun. No campaign, no real reason to play except live and kill. It's pretty fun.

I'm certainly looking forward to the release of the standalone version myself. The game that tried to ride its coattails to success, War Z, has been a massive disappointment so far, and is so fundamentally flawed that I don't think the issues will ever be corrected. Then again, it is only in Alpha right now.

in my opinion I go for resident evil zero because its the start of a great franchise its an intense game your always in some creepy environment it has a great atmosphere,enemy,puzzles etc..
for example you start in the train and you crash.and were do you and up in in a creepy old mansion that you think is abandoned but the second you go outside or open a door you get attack t by a zombie or a tyrant or what not.what i really like about resident evil zero are  the puzzles.
for example you find a red or blue key and you just saw the door so you must go to the blue or red door you know where it is but you know that there are some zombies waiting for you outside. and you don,t have a lot of bullets left so your gonna think shall i make it. shall i run for it. or just stand there and hope they just go away.so yeah i think resident evil zero is in my eyes the best resident evil game out there.
