A lot of times people will ask me if I can borrow my phone or a couple of dollars when I'm in town. Most of the time I will give a dollar or two but sometimes I don't have it to give or I know they are just bumming, I tell them I can't help you or I don't have it. My step-sister has a bad habit of "borrowing" phones. She has no phone (and no money or life) but she always has "important" stuff to talk about to her friends. Yes, homeless people who need money  are always present in most urban areas,  I try to help them out when i can as it's in my nature. But i won't give any to someone who stinks strongly of liquor.

I used to work for the British Red Cross that helped people with their asylum claims so i know all the horrible stuff they have to go through. Plus the amount of time it takes to actually get a response with that response being negative all the time, It makes me think that yes i may be unemployed but at least i have some shelter.

In the money situation, usually I don't bring any to school, so when people ask me for money for the vending machine, I tell them I don't have anything. To anyone that reads this i went to a gas station and the jail just let out a bunch of guys and all of them was asking for one phone haha, i ended up giving the guy a couple of dollars for ciggerettes because i just got payed but that sort of thing can be dangerous.
