Extreme Rules, was for all intents and purposes, just as extreme as it was advertised. A true gift, it was one of the better PPVs to be seen in a while. If nothing else, it was at least better than Wrestlemania 28.

Miz vs Santino for US Title.

I honestly didn't even watch this match. I always have company for the PPVs, and I was preparing our meal for the PPV at the time this match started. However, I did catch a few sound bytes, and a few glimpses at the actual match, and can pretty safely assume it wasn't anything special. All that was important was that Miz finally got on a card leading off, and that Santino is still being taken seriously. I wanted to see Miz win honestly, because I feel they are burying him as a talent. However, I'm not upset about Santino winning as he's a true treasure to watch. Given it was a pre show match, I'm inclined to believe it was not absolutely horrible, but enough to hook some last second people.

Kane vs Orton for absolutely nothing/personal sanity

I loved this match. It was one of my top 3 for the night easily. Kane and Orton seem to put on a decent show every time they get together, and this was no exception, they even gave it a good amount of time. I actually expected Orton to win this, and I was pleasantly surprised to see him actually win. The RKO on the steel chair was nothing new, but it was still nice to see. The one question I have is where they go from here. Orton has clearly shown he is better than Kane, and is probably ready to move on. Kane needs to find someone who is weaker to beat up on. It's hard to establish a monster heel, when his most notable matches are beating up on Zack Ryder (poor talent) and losing to John Cena and Randy Orton, you need to get built up. Maybe have him go against someone beatable that legitimize Kane? Orton should really be in the title picture soon, especially if it's for the IC title. Actually, Orton vs Rhodes could still be an interesting feud.

Brodus Clay vs Dolph Ziggler in the Potty Break match

This was probably my least favorite match on the card. I could have gone without it, but I appreciated the potty break. It's nice to see Brodus beating up somebody who isn't a total jobber, but it's not cool to see them treating Dolph Ziggler like a punching bag. When was the last time we saw Dolph beating anybody of value? To me this isn't much better than him beating up a jobber. Hopefully they get Brodus to ditch this silly Funkasaurus gimmick. It was cute at first, but it's kind of lost it's luster. He's got decent ring skills, but he's being treated all wrong. He needs to be a Kane like person, beating the hell out of everyone. Dolph is still one of my favorite talents so it infuriates me to see him being used the way he is. Not good form WWE.

Cody Rhodes vs Big Show for the IC title... in a tables match.

Raise your hand if you thought Big Show was unbreakable in a tables match. Because I think it's rather silly to even attempt a match like this. I felt like Cody would win, or at least hoped so, since Big Show isn't much of a champion. When I have trouble envisioning ANYONE as a champion (for the record, I can see almost anyone champ at any belt.) it's just not right. Big Show should be fighting for the Heavyweight title. Not the intercontinental title. On top of that, this feud is terribly mismatched. Big Show probably weighs about the same as Cody Rhodes and his father, and possibly Goldust with it. David and Goliath matches are fun, but only when David is the face, and Goliath is the heel. It's felt pointless from day one. Bonus to this match though for the ending. Big Show "falling" through a table, and then getting pissed and sending Cody through TWO tables. Way to give people their money's worth! Decent enough match.

Daniel Bryan vs Sheamus in a 2 out of 3 falls match for the WHC

This match has given me and my friend some mixed reactions. He thought the match was boring, and didn't really pay a ton of attention to it. And I thought it was a well fought match between two people who kind of got cheated out of a decent Wrestlemania match. I knew Sheamus would walk out victorious, but you have to wonder if this is the end of that feud. I sure hope not, but Sheamus has proven he's much better than Bryan in the world of WWE. Daniel Bryan has been an amazing heel the past few months, and I'm actually rather enjoying his suffering. Sheamus doesn't really appeal to me as a champion. But he's doing a fine job. I want to see Christian come back and deal with this, since the two fought for a while back when Christian was healthy. Christian-Daniel Bryan-Sheamus? That would be interesting. And definitely a match one could call Over the Limit. I thought it was a decent match, friend disagrees.

Ryback vs. Aaron Relic and Jay Hutton in another potty break match

I'll be completely honest here, I had to look up their names to know the names of the people who got squashed. That's not a bad thing. Aaron Relic weighs less than I do I think, and Jay Hutton... meh, I don't think he even should have bothered coming if he knew this was the humiliation in store for him. Nice to see Ryback getting a bit of a push, but can we please put him in a match with Brodus Clay? That would be something I'd be genuinely interested in seeing!

Chris Jericho versus CM Drunk in a WWE Title Match... oh and it's a "Chicago Street Fight"

I'm not a huge fan of CM Punk. That said, I actually do like how he wrestles. It's always a treat to watch these two grapple, and last nights match was no exception. Punk and Jericho are probably continuing their feud, and I have no problem with that. This match was the one that really woke me up, after 2-3 poor to decent matches that had really sort of let me down. (Excepting the Bryan-Sheamus match) The Chicago Street Fight was a nice touch, although I for one thought they'd actually go old school and fight to the out side streets of Chicago, which would have made for an epic battle. However, I fully understand why they chose not to do that. Jericho for one, sold things extremely well, and you have to think once his tour with Fozzy ends after Summerslam, that he'll be rewarded with another title run. Bonus points to the shot of the night, which was the fire extinguisher being sprayed to get out of the Walls of Jericho. This will probably the match of the night. Stole the show entirely.

Divas Match between the Bella Twins and Not Kharma

This kind of irritated me. I already knew it was either Kharma or Layla that would replace Beth Phoenix. I WANTED Kharma. Seeing Layla was kind of a let down. Nice to see her back and all, but I figured the one to take the title from the Bellas would be Kharma. That would be quite the way to end that feud. That said, not a horrible Divas match. It was passable. Definitely better than Ryback and Brodus Clay's matches.

Brock Lesnar in his MMA shorts versus John Cena with his chain in a match that will probably injure someone.

Brock Lesnar is a beast of human nature. After watching his match with Cena, I can say this is definitely true. After watching Cena basically get his ass kicked for 20 minutes, I was still entertained. This is how you know you've made a GOOD MONSTER HEEL. (pay attention WWE, this would be great to do to Kane or hey, Brodus Clay) John Cena didn't look like Super Cena, and I actually heard some cheers with was surprising, given who he is. I don't want to spoil too much if you haven't watched the match. It was totally brutal, and Cena looked dead for about half the match, which is kind of understandable given how he kinda busted open on Lesnars first attacks. And not only that, but my pre show predicition of Cena getting injured seems to have come true, as in 20 minutes, Raw starts and we'll see what happens. Cena is probably taking time off, as he should, and Lesnar should probably beat the s*** out of somebody. He does that pretty well.

It'll be interesting to see the fallout from Extreme Rules tonight on Raw.

I'm one of those guys that LIKED the Extreme Rules card, but... when it came to show time, I was disappointed with a lot of the show. I wish they would realize that 2 great matches does not mean a great show. Heck, it shouldn't even qualify for a DECENT show. Also, they tend to do too many squash matches that do not feature the brilliance of Giant Bernard... I mean Lord Tensai.

Tommyspud :

While I disagree with the statement about the card, I think it was actually pretty decent all things considered, I do agree about the lack of Tensai. I wanted to see him in there. Preferably over Brodus Clay, who was absolutely useless in his match with Ziggler.

Decent compared to recent PPVs, yeah of course, but compared to the stuff they pulled out... 5-8 years ago... I don't think so. Then again, it's just a personal preference thing for me. To be honest, I do like Clay, because I've seen the stuff he's done out of WWE. Not a big fan of Ryback though... Not one bit. He's just bad.

Oh no question. 5-8 years ago the product was GOOD.

Nowadays decent is enough to convince me it's worth watching given the crap we see now.

I just don't like the big hulking guys if you haven't noticed, in general. I don't even like the Big Show despite what he does.

The only "big" I like is Brock Lesnar because he's f***ing scary in a ring.

I always find I'm disappointed by the actual matches at a PPV.... except for 1 or 2 that steal the show.

I can't believe Cena won. That made absolutely no sense. You build up Lesnar into a "monster" and then Cena beats him.... and then takes time off because he's hurt. STUPID! Let Lesnar beat Cena to a pulp and then have Cena take time off because he needs to "rethink things".... he takes his break to heal up and then comes back, either as a heel or as the new and improved Cena at which time he beats Lesnar.

I feel like storylines could be straightforward and they aren't. It's not like wrestling fans are looking for anything too sophisticated. We want the good guys to win and the bad guys to lose. We're happy when the good guys win and mad when the bad guys win. Both are good outcomes as long as they make sense at the time.

geeogree :

Well as far as Lesnar-Cena goes, I get why they did it the way they did.

Lesnar is seen as a guy who could leave at any time, and WWE wanted to have Cena go over Lesnar before Lesnar left WWE. So they gave him a quick one. They'll probably have one more match in the future... but I think they actually handled it right for once.

I wouldn't have minded a Cena loss, and I actually sort of expected it... but either way I would have been happy with that match.

Another PPV that went to an extreme turn. Even though its overall random, it did have a few good matches.

Santino vs. Miz (US Title)
It came out of nowhere, but it was nice that WWE actually broadcasted it in Youtube. Its a shame that Miz is jobbing to Santino, but meh.

Kane vs. Orton
These two always had a nice amount of extreme matches. Orton winning from RKO on the chair. This one was okay. Rivalry sucks, but the match was pretty good.

Brodus Clay vs. Dolph Ziggler
Its what you would expect from a Clay match. Another squash. Clay being over the top.

Cody Rhodes vs. Big Show Tables Match (IC Title)
Apparently the Tables match happened in a "roulette" before the PPV and most said Big Show was pretty much unbeatable in the match..until he gets beat. By falling from the apron. Cody gets the title back, which I have no problem with, and Show goes all crazy on Rhodes Choke slamming him through numerous tables lots of times. Leaving him a broken mess.

Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus 2 out of 3 Falls Match (WH Title)
Bryan had the upper hand in the match, with the YES! chants behind him. Even though Sheamus won the first fall by DQ, Bryan got the second fall quickly after Sheamus passes out from the Yes Lock. Eventually Sheamus has the upper hand and wins with the Brogue Kick. Pretty nice match.

Ryback vs. 2 Jobbers
Yeah another random squash from the Future Goldberg so to speak. When the match started, big "GOLDBERG" chants broke out. I found that funny. Other than that, domination. Ryback wins.

CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho Chicago Street Fight (WWE Title)
This is probably the best match of the night. It went really extreme. I really found it entertaining. Even ECW chants broke out after a chair shot to the head, I believe. They used Kindo Sticks, Chairs, and even a Fire Extinguisher at one point. That was cool. Match ending with Jericho looking for the GTS on Punk, but Punk got out and GTS'd Jericho instead. Awesome.

Nikki Bella vs. TBA (Diva's Title)
Beth wasn't cleared to compete so its going to be an anonymous opponent. Its the returning NO ITS NOT KHARMA. Its Layla. Which isn't THAT bad, but come on, that would have been the best..okay I just wanted Kharma to rip the Bellas limb from limb. New Divas Champ Layla. Whoopdedoo.

John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar Extreme Rules Match
Lesnar looked like a Monster in this match. With the new MMA style attire, and making Cena bleed right away, he looked really unstoppable. They used a couple of objects here and there, and knocking out a couple of refs along the way, Lesnar was in control 99% of the match. Without a doubt. Match ending with Cena out of the blue hitting Lesnar with his Chain on the head, making him bleed (not sure if its real or not) and hitting the AA on the steel steps.
After the match, Cena cut a promo about how he's been beaten up and needs a "vacation". I put it in quotes because he's back the next night on RAW. Yeah, Cena trolled us again of him leaving. End of PPV.

Overall, the card was okay, but it had 3 sleepers. Or potty breaks. Whatever you call it.
If I could rate it, I'd rate it 7/10.

Hmm I can't believe John Cena beat Brock Lesnar, not to say that Cena didn't have a chance against him. I find it kind of surprising that Lesnar quit the WWE, or did he......?

legacyme3 : I seen that fight against Brock Lesnar and John Cena. That s**t was funny. Cena should not have won after that beat down. Cena got lucky. Lesnar should not have been playing with his food.
