I haven't really played either series, but to me it looks like Final Fantasy is the better series. The stories, and characters are a little more complex, and to me it seems to be a little more epic.

I Never played both of them to the point where I decide to pick which one is better. But the first one I played between these two is Pokemon. Never played Final Fantasy a lot. But I kinda like them both equally.

Pokémon, but I haven't played FF much, but I find Pokémon more fun, because I can play an entire game of Gold without getting bored. I also would prefer using a cute Pokémon rather than the guys in FF. And Pokémon is a more bright game, which I like. Maybe a little biased from my point, but that's my opinion.

Well, I honestly prefer Pokemon's more casual game play. And being able to battle against others is very fun. Pokemon is great because it can be played casually, or competitively. So it spreads to more of an audience. That and being able to play it wherever you go is also kind of a great additional plus I suppose, so I'll lean into Pokemon on this one.

As much as I'm grateful for Pokemon for introducing me to the word of gaming; I'm afraid that Final Fantasy is the better of the two. Final Fantasy has the edge in terms of customization, character development, story, and action. I will pokemon some credit as it has better leveling (since you can level like 500 pokemon to level 100 so that is like almost 500,000 levels you can achieve) where as Final Fantasy is limited to the main cast you can level (I'm not counting Chocobo breeding.)

Pokémon. I have never liked final fantasy series, I always preferred Segas rpgs like the shining and phantasy star series much more than Nintendos rpgs, the only Nintendo rpg that is better than all others is Pokémon. Pokémon yellow is my favorite rpg of all time.

I'm seeing a lot of..."Pokemon, but I haven't finished a Final Fantasy" and "Pokemon, because I played it first"

It appears that the people who chose Final Fantasy had... umm.... reasons.

I can not make a choice, for I have never played a Pokemon and that wouldn't be right. I have been thinking of playing Pokemon due to my need for new RPG's to play. I gotta say though. There are some strong arguments in this thread for me NOT to play them.

Unless the FF games have seriously improved since FF2, then pokémon's gameplay is alot more fun. However, FF's story tends to have a far more compelling story. All in all, it's a tie. And depending on which you value more, it could go either way.
