It has got to be Meowth! The anime started my like for him, and even when I found he was not THAT great battle-wise, I still liked him for his Pay Day (and later, Pick Up skill). He was also able to use a pretty decent amount of abilities which was cool. If only they made a hold item for him like they did Pikachu to make his lower evolutionary form more powerful.

Skitty would be second favorite; that assist move is rather fun to use. It is just a shame her stats are pretty awful. I played through Ruby with her and it was a little bit of a challenge to find her niche.
