My battalion had a dress uniform inspection today. Everybody came in wearing their dress uniforms (either Class A's or the new Dress Blues) and we had what's called an "in ranks inspection" to inspect our uniforms, followed by a long awards ceremony at the gym, with everybody standing in formation. My lower back and feet were killing me!

Anyway, I thought I'd show my self off wearing them, although I think I could look better. Yes, that's my real last name.

Very nice uniform and variety of badges you got there.... how many did you earn? Or are they just given? The badges kinda look like country flags from around the world....or are they? Forgive my ignorance, I have no knowledge of the military.

They're ribbons. We get them for various things, like doing training overseas, serving in Afghanistan (which I did last year), being an excellent soldier and even as a parting reward. I have 13 ribbons, which are on the right side in the pics. The 3 on the left with gold frames are unit awards, such as a Presidential Unit Citation (the blue one).
