As I was falling asleep last night, I was overcome by a thorough enjoyment of how awesome my bed is. And it made me wonder, what kinds of beds do you guys like?

I'm talking what size you currently have, and what size you'd want/intend to buy in the future.
Single/twin/full/queen/king/California king.

Also, what's the current softness, and how soft would you prefer it to be?
Super soft, soft, medium, firm, or extra firm, for example.

My current bed is a queen and is pretty firm, though not too much. It's actually the perfect amount of firmness because I sleep on my stomach, and sleeping on my stomach on a really soft bed really hurts my back after a whlie. So this works out great!

My last bed was a full, but the box spring was broken on the first day I got it (my obnoxious friend at the time jumped on it as soon as it was in my room and broke it). Unfortunately, I didn't get a new box spring until way after my mattress had kind of formed a "dimple" (as Lazlo called it) in the middle of the bed. I had it from when I was 11 to 19, and it SUCKED to sleep in with Lazlo because we'd both end up rolling into the pit in the middle and it was super uncomfortable. I'm all for snuggling, but it was all elbows and knees everywhere.

I find this queen to be the perfect size and I'm fairly certain I'd hate to have a bed any bigger, because this is the perfect balance of having my own room, yet having the security and comfort of being very near Lazlo. I guess I'm just a sissy girl, I don't know. =)

So anyway, I'm super glad Lazlo bought us this new bed a couple years back. It's awesome. =) Appreciate your bed, and share your preferences! <3

Currently I have a Queen Size Tempur-Pedic mattress made from viscoelastic memory foam that firmly adjusts to the sleeping body. It's a comfortable bed to have especially for those that have back pains or bodily pains. I can honesty say, since the purchase of this bed, I wake up more energized, and refreshed, so it was well worth it!

At one point, I wanted a King Size Tempur-Pedic but decided not to get one because it's slightly expensive, not to mention I live and sleep alone (sometimes) so buying one would be nonsensical.

Compared to my old Queen Sized bed filled with uncomfortable springs, it's like sleeping on cotton balls! I am pleased with my Tempur-Pedic mattress and have no intentions of buying a new one....unless there's a new kind that catches my interest and fits into my budget. For the time being, I'm content and sleep peacefully!

I have a twin right now. It sounds like a brick when I hit it. *Hits* Yep. Just like a brick. (Not that bad, but you get the idea. )

Mi bed is 39"x75". The top of my mattress is approximately 34 inches off the ground (high enough to make it unlikely for a demon midget to eat my dreams). It's pretty firm and very comfortable. Before that bed I had a craptastic bed, so I love this one. My old bed was only 27 inches above the ground and was made up almost literally of only springs. I'm pretty sure it's caused some long term damage to me, but oh well.

I currently sleep on a queen sized mattress. It does have springs, but it is only a year old so it is still fine. It is also super cushioned, so you don't feel the springs. It fits for now. We thought of a King Bed, which would be nice, but would be too big for our bedroom. Maybe if the bedroom in our next house is larger. We also really want the Tempur-Pedic Cloud mattress. We love it but they are so expensive. That is our goal though.

Yeah, getting that new bed was pretty great. KG didn't like it at first because she thought it was too hard. You know how it is, she likes her mattress firm, I like it extra firm. I guess it's true what they say; opposites attract.

I'm glad my description was sufficiently accurate. However, I do feel the need to mention that the damage caused to me by my old bed was purely emotional. I had trouble trusting a bed again after that last abusive relationship, and had spent several months sleeping on my brother's couch before I met Michael (my new bed).

tRIUNE : Ha, I know just what that's like. I had to sleep on my brother's couch for a few months until we bought me a new mattress. It actually wasn't that bad, but I'd wake up in the middle of the night with my arms completely numb and my neck extremely stiff.

rcarter2 : Your goal is to own a tempur pedic mattress and you're wasting money on houses? Dude, those mattresses are cheaper than a house. Sell your house, buy like twenty of 'em, and die happy.

And finally I'd like to close by saying that I'm disappointed by the fact that not one, but at least four mods read this thread without warning WarpStarFerret about making off topic posts. This thread was about beds, not hitting your family members.

I currently sleep on a single bed which is soft. I used to have a bunk bed (slept on bottom). Since my brother moved out long ago, I have my own bed and room.
I wish to own a bit softer bed since currently my back hurts due to it being worn out

soxfan849 : You, sir, are fantastic. I had to go back and read what you were talking about with WarpStarFerret, but I laughed out loud when I read it. You sure put an awesome spin on that post, haha. Thanks!

Also yeah, lazy mods. Goodness gracious. BAN HIM, OFF WITH HIS HEAD.

Lazlo Falconi : not to be a prude sir, but firm and extra firm are not opposites, they are 2 different precisions measures of one type.
...[awkward silence]...
soxfan849 : well played sir, you are a master of the game.
i have a bog standard single, although memory foam pillow and matress, good stuff.
