I dont really think it matters. Im just stoked that there's gonna be a new Pokemon game D

I'm ecstatic, too! I'm really fascinated by the fact that it's not a third version with minor changes, but an actual continuation of the storyline.

With Pokémon BW 2 and Nobunaga's Ambition, Pokémon lately just has me excited! And saving money. When they try new things, the results are almost always phenomenal.

I can sum it up in one word.

Redundant.

But let me rant for a while, as a person who has played every main series pokemon game.

This title should not exist.

Black and White, in all respects, was a crappy pokemon game, that spits in the face of everything pokemon has ever been.

So, the logical thing to do would be to move on and learn from the mistakes that were made. Instead, they continue to spit in the face of the series by MAKING A SEQUEL OF SORTS TO IT. How many other games got a game less than a year or so after it's release?

This is completely unneccesary.

Make a real pokemon game again and the series might get the respect it deserves. It doesn't need the gimmicky crap they tried to force down our throats this time around.

Don't get me wrong. I liked the story of Black and White.

It was the only good part of the game though. The rest of it was a total snoozefest.

I can't wait for this game to get poor reviews. I really can't.

This will be the first game in the series I refuse to play based simply on the principle of the game.

I'm not sure how I feel about it. The titles themselves already put me off from wanting to get them at all. If I read correctly elsewhere, I'm pretty sure this game will be available for DS and 3DS. Which is just fine with me since I would like to avoid getting a 3DS for as long as possible. Apparently these games are supposed to be sequels/not just a "third version" of Black and White. Not sure how confident I am that that will actually be the case. I also think the Kyreum (sp?) splices of Reshiram and Zekrom aren't that impressive, though that's not really a huge factor to me. I don't know. Right now I'm pretty indifferent. I guess I'll have to know more. 

No. Just, no. I don't play Pokemon anymore, but seriously? Nintendo knows they lost a lot of fans around Sinnoh, and that includes me. And yet they keep going? I see Pokemon having a downfall in the next few years.

But anyways, it'll probably be released on regular DS.

legacyme3 : I would disagree with you there. I found B&W to be enjoyable, and the must fun I've had playing Pokemon since Gen II came out. Admittedly some of the Pokemon were less than great (the Pan families get all of my rage), but come on dude; Oshawott.

As for direct sequels, I am a bit skeptical but I'm willing to give them a chance. But considering there is no information other than they exist right now, it's unfair to want them to fail just because it's never been done before. Wait for more information to become available before judging them. Or better yet; wait for the game to come out, beat it, and then complain about it.

EDIT: Bulbapedia says B&W2 will be released on DS, and be compatible with 3DS. Everybody wins.

legacyme3 : How, exactly? Look back objectively on 1st gen Pokemon and tell me they aren't ridiculous. The same with all other generations. Every Pokemon game is the same. The only reason people say otherwise is due to nostalgia.

This is a Squirtle. It looks awesome. It's not ridiculous at all. It's a turtle mixed with a squirrel (tail). It shoots water. What's not to love?



This is an Oshawatt.

I can't begin to tell you what I think it is. Everything about it screams that it was slapped together at the last possible second. It does not look enough like an otter for me to really call it an otter. It's pathetic looking.

legacyme3 : Is there not love enough in your heart for both squirrel turtle and otter? Are you so dead inside? And I fail to see how a squirrel/turtle hybrid is less ridiculous than an otter.

I'm not dead inside, but everything about Gen V is puke terrible. Except Zebstrika. That is the only good thing about Gen V.

There is a reason why I stick with Generation I Pokemon and pay very little attention to anything past that. They just kept getting weirder and less creative. Duly noted that some are pretty neat, but grouped overall, they can't compare to the awesomeness and creativity of generation I. It seems the newer the generation, the less creative they get with them in the way they look, what they do, and their names.

Nah, you have your opinions and that's fine. But I do hope when the games are released you give them a chance.

I'm hoping they'll fix what made Black and White seem like a huge letdown after Heart Gold and Soul Silver, but I can't say I'm too pumped to go through another game with Unova Pokemon. There are only a few Unova Pokemon I respect.

Why couldn't it just be a Ruby/Sapphire remake?

At first I did emulate B&W, but the emulation was so slow and piss poor I borrowed a friend's DS to play it.

rcarter2 : Admittedly they are pretty strange. Yamask is a good example, being the ghost of a human for some reason. For me stuff like that is part of the appeal of newer generations though. While still a kids game dark stuff like that is slipped in for older players to enjoy.

starwars293 : I don't think Leggy's argument against Oshawatt is the fact that he one of his mixes is an otter. I believe his thing against it is because of the fact that you can't even tell what the heck it is supposed to be and isn't even well done. It looks like they waited to design it until they had 5 minutes to do it. I'm sure they could make an otter Pokemon that Leggy would have no problem with. But I don't know how he feels about otters though.
