How much effort do your parents put into you?  I mean besides them going to work to give you food, shelter, heat, clean water, health care, transportation, education, athletics, internet, and social skills.

Do they make your food all the time?  Do they clean up after you?  What do they do for you?

They taught to me to think. They're paying to put me through college and even bought me a car, but that's all monetary. I love them for it, but I could survive without either (if you call that surviving).

But teaching me not to mindlessly believe anything and to always think about how I treat other people has definitely the greatest influence over my life than anything else. Ultimately it's the reason I left the religion they want me to follow. It's also the same reason I'll never tell either of them.

Well, besides the usual things parents teach you, which you've already listed, my parents tend to clean up a lot for me. I live in a house with 5 brothers, and I'm the most organized out of them all. They see how hard it is for me to basically be forced by my brothers to clean up the rooms when clearly everything wrong with the rooms is their fault (their clothes are on the floor, cups all belong to them, etc) So I only clean up on the weekends. My parents end up cleaning during the weekdays when I'm at school. Other than that, I pretty much do everything else on my own.

My parents don't really do a lot for me these days. I mean, when they do something, it's big and I couldn't get by without it, but interactions with them are few and far between. Most of what they do is giving me gas money so I can come visit, but they also help out when I'm low on cash and other things. It's nice having that fallback, you know?

Even though I don't get along well with my step mom and my dad irritates me with his sloth like behavior they do still do lots of things for me.  Biggest thing is that they allow me to live with them during the rough part of my life.  My dad also does bring me where I have to go to get my life back on track since we cannot afford a car for me.

I do appreciate what they do even if they get on my nerves some times.  I do things for them back like try to keep the house clean, take care of their child, and I never ask for anything special.  Even though I do need cloths lol!  I have only 2 pairs of pants, 2 long sleeved shirts, 2 short sleeved shirts, and 2 dresses.  They all are tattered and stained with cleaning supplies now I only have 1 dress suitable to wear out in the real world.   Anyway yea they do a lot for me even if it seems a little at times.
