yeah, I think people need to be able to look at the things they believe about the world and be able to look at them from different angles.

If you can't take a serious look at your own beliefs about the world how are you ever supposed to know if you're right? I find myself constantly re-evaluating what I believe and my position on all sorts of issues. Many of my current opinions don't fall in line with my religion. That's where I'm at right now

If people take offence to that, thats there problem, nothing is free from ridicule, its just a film.
People were getting annoyed at the film paul about an alien (its a comedy) because he kept riping on religion, i found it hilarious

To be honest though, I don't know how many people consider it a British movie since it's set in America... even though the actors are Brits... but yeah, that is American mentality for you.

The Life of Brian is definably one of those border crossing movies, I would say that it almost certainly is disrespectful for mocking Christianity, but it's not overly bad, since the offend everybody equally, which is great.

I LOVED that movie, and it did indeed make fun of Christianity, but it wasn't just to knock it down. Like Elara said, it's a satirical movie, which doesn't give you a free pass to bash people, but when done right emphasizes certain points that are ridiculous when taken out of context. I can't imagine anyone with the slightest sense of humor taking offense to this.

      I love Monty Python and The Life of Brian is defiantly the best one.  I think it wasn't really bad in any sense in fact it was kind of historically accurate.  During that time many people were claiming to be the messiah and many were preaching everywhere this is just a story of one fictional character.  While I will say the frontal nude on the hermit was a bit borderline it's not that bad at all and with the song "Always look on the bright side of Life" it's truly a great movie, one worth watching.
