Today, we just found out that my dog has diabetes.  Before we found the results, we thought that she was depressed from our dead cat, Sissy.  I hope that she will get better soon cause I do not want to lose another pet.

Ahh jeez, that's terrible. It's almost worse when pets get diabetes because they don't understand why they have to change their diet. They just want to play like they're still puppies. I had a cat with diabetes and it's not a fun thing. But you know what? That just makes your time with her all the more special and meaningful. Just remember that life is a precious gift, and you need to cherish every minute of it surrounded by those that you love, and that without the ability to lose those we loved, we would not fully be able to appreciate just how special they are.

I hope every thing works out for you, but life comes and goes, and you just kind of have to cope.

My ex's dog had diabetes, and she still lived a nice long life. As long as you keep up on her insulin shots and keep her on a good diet she should have a nice long life as well. Just so you know though, usually pets don't "get better" from diabetes any more than humans do... once you have it, you are generally stuck with it.
