Of all the games you've played, which Boss Battle was the hardest?

For me, it's definitely Emerald weapon from Final Fantasy 7. Not only did it take a many attempts and strategies to beat him, but it also took a while.

Out of all games I know then it has to be Mushihimesama futari: Last boss f***ing impossible I tell you :/

Out of things I have cleared myself: Touhou 7: Stage 6, normal difficulty Never mind that there's four difficulties that are harder then this that I have yet to clear.

Edit: Both of these games are one hit = death.

I had little trouble with Emerald. It was Ruby Weapon that I had the most trouble with. In fact, I dont think I have ever beat him without cheating....

Cloud was always my strongest character and it seemed like right from the start, no matter what position he was in, Ruby got rid of him first with that damn little sand whirlpool thing.

The trick with ruby is to kill your other two part members BEFORE entering the battle. Meaning, right at the start he will throw his tentacles into the ground, preventing him from using that whirlpool... Then its just a matter of not dying... Ofcourse Final Attack + Phoenix works well

So for me, it wasn't the hardest battle...

Also, none of the FF7 bosses were really a challenge... Compared to FFX and even they were push over's.... (Stats so high that i killed Omega weapon allowing him to only get 1 move in.)

For me, FFVIII's Omega Weapon... with the 1 Million HP... He was for me the greatest challenge ever...

Well impretty sure his name was Omega, it might of been Ultimate Weapon... he was an optional boss where Yunalesca is... Sorta like a... challenge.. actually, Grievas (Yunalescas GF was also VERY hard... he killed me more than ive ever died in any Final Fantasy)

Ruby was a bit of a pain in the butt... Emerald was a lil to, damn that lack of materia fight.

Cant really think of any impossible fights i've come accross.. probably left the game and blanked it out of my memory.

You were right David lol. Since I haven't played a game that had a boss in years I don't really have one. I do remember the boss in Zelda Ocarina of time (the boss who is like a ghost and floats through paintings) was a bit hard since I suck with arrows I'm better with guns.

The hardest boss battle I've had would probably be Albedo from Xenosaga 1. Holy. Effing. Crap. I mean, he regenerated parts and he ripped off his own head for laughs.

Yea that FF8 boss wizzed me off. I had all of my party members beefed up, so it made the boss that much more difficult. I just gave up >.<

But to round it up, I'd have to say Ultima Weapon from FF8 was probably the one that gave me the hardest time. Followed by Ruby, then Emerald.

I haven't had any boss battles that were that hard. My hardest was Epsilon in Megaman X Command Mission

See i agree that Ultima Weapon was super hard (FFVIII) but both Ruby and Emerald (FFVII) were push overs compared to him. Ruby was all about preparation... And even more so about having Final Attack + Phoniex. The hardest part was keeping your mana over a certain limit. And seeing as he had a mana drain + you had to use an insane amount of Mana to deal damage that was all that was really difficult.

How i defeated Ruby.

Kill off 2 of your party members (Not cloud, but keep him in the middle)

Having Master Summon + Master Final Attack + Master Phoniex is very wise.

Cast Hades.

Cast Knights of the round table (double cast is best)

Assuming youve revived your other party members, Use Mimic. (Command Materia)

So for every one attack you CAN get 6 Knights of the round Table summons (at an average of 8K Damage for 12 attacks is 96,000 Damage times that by 6 is 576,000 Damage.)

The trick? ONLY CAST WHEN HE IS STOPPED! Hades will deal very little damage but will throw a heap of status affects at him. Only when he is affected by STOP can you cast on him.

Why? Any attack made where he can counter, will cause him to use Ultima. It'll depend on how strong your characters are, but i dont think even my characters could survive that.

Then, done... take your reward get yourself a new... something.. Master Magic i think.. or Gold Chocobo... not sure...

I agree. The Omega weapon of FF8 is probably THEE hardest boss ever. It didn't help that the stronger your character was, the stronger it was. But despite that, he still was no pushover even with that silly
I mean, firstly, he had over a million HP. And taking into account that IF you're lucky, and Squall does Lion Heart, he deals 100000 damage. That's if you get a full Renzo as well as Lion Heart. Zell's combo trick helped as well for up to 80000. But that's only if you are forced into Limit Break. If you used Auras, you never got those high amounts of time/Renzokukken shots.

Then there's Terra Break. An attack that's like meteor, but it deals 3000-4000 damage PER SHOT. Taking into account that max hp was 9999 and couldn't go higher, this became quite a problem.

I beat him only because of three things.

A Holy War. (Makes entire party invincible for a while) though it was difficult as one had to time that friggen Aura VERY well.
Phoenix. Man, that thing saved me countless times in that battle. He revives your entire party if die.
Angelo something. One of Angelo's moves revived Rinoa. And she was pretty fast so usually I got to revive another char. And then I just had to pray that Omega didn't friggen use Terra Break again...

Another boss that was quite ridiculous in my opinion is the Ultima weapon in FF5. Man. I was really high-leveled and I STILL couldn't beat him. Within the first few seconds of the fight, he simply uses his stupid beam cannon thing and kills all my chars in one attack. REGARDLESS of level... Seriously...

Has anyone ever played Final Fantasy Tactics? It's a strategy game - hence the 'Tactics'.

When Ramza has to fight Wiegraf one-on-one at the end of chapter 3...THAT'S irritating. He's faster than you, stronger than you, and has this one attack that will jack you for about 120 damage, meaning that unless you're powered up to ungodly levels, you're dead in about three turns or so. And THEN...if by some miracle you manage to knock him off, he transforms into Velius, who has about 1000 HP, which, by the way, is insanely freaking high for a tactical RPG of this nature. Fortunately, your buddies show up at this point. Unfortunately, so do his. Ultima Demons...I hate Ultima Demons.

Second is Seymour Omnis and those friggin' pinwheels of doom. They're such a distraction, but you can't let them line up or he'll blow you away with [insert spell ending with -ga here]. I hated fighting all of Seymour's forms.

That and the last battle with Sin itself. Sin doesn't hit hard, no, but if you can't hit hard enough and kill him in about 5 turns, then it's automatic GAME OVER.

The hardest will be Clock Tower 3 in my book the game was awsome but the final boss was SO over powered! but when you defeat him its really worth it but WARNING playing it on hard mode will make you go crazy!

Emerld and ruby from ff7 killed me then again I found and fought them by accident at level 45. . . not a smart move.

Also Perfect cherry blossom on insane is insane

Yeah... I'm not even going to bother playing that because a) I want to keep my laptop NOT broken and b) games that are just HARD and not a good challenge are kind of cruel.
