Right... hello, Vizz-ers!
I'm SourceRemorses, aka Matt [some people find it easier to remember me by the username, feel free to nickname me or choose whatever way you'd like].
Funny story, actually, that brought me here, haha. Today, I was just scanning through YouTube, and I came across a game that I used to play ... years ago: Rampage World Tour and it's sequel, Universal Tour. I love those games still today, and I saw someone record some game play for the second instalment. I read in the description that it was found 'online', so, good old Google came up and I searched. Vizzed lead me to this gold mine of nostalgia!! And here I am. I have yet to discover more games that I've probably longed for as a kid on here - looking forwards to that. I love retro games - I mean, who doesn't??
Hand on heart, I'm not a big gamer, but I do like the all time favourites [in my opinion]: Amnesia: The Dark Descent and it's Justine mod, really enjoyed the Haunted House mod for Half-Life 2, the Silent Hill series, Dead Space 1 and 2, Resident Evil - I guess I'm a survival-horror-adventure-puzzle fiend. I love a scare and challenge!
I sometimes follow the gaming reviews from IGN and Machinima, as well as being a fan of The Escapists' Zero Punctuation, Ben 'Yahtzee'. I enjoy his stuff - hopefully you guys of heard of him - if not, it's worth a watch! I know he criticises a lot of games, that even I, myself love and enjoy, but he does make valid and hilarious points. I still play the game to check it out for myself - besides, it's all professional opinion. Doesn't mean you have to believe in what a professional says, right?
Unfortunately, my gaming time has come to a stand still - I'm a student in Uni these days, and part-times have tugged me down. I'd like to get back into gaming - my girlfriend is a big gamer - and I'd like to at least show her I'm not game-illiterate!
Other things about me? Well... not to give away too much of my persona, but I am British, highly sociable, easy to talk to... creative! Yes, creative. I'm actually looking at posting in the Art Forums here - I love writing poems. I don't write the lovey-dovey stuff though - very rare area of mine, but I do like being ambiguous... I love reader's responses, and I hope there's some people who like a bit of not-so-confusing poetry...! I was an A grade English Literature student back in Sixth Form!!
In juxtapose to this, I am also into visual art - theatre, music.. and so on. Right now, I'm a freelancer Photoshop artist - but I can draw and paint without this. Right now, the art movement I'm under is Lowbrow - or Pop Surrealism - if any of you out there are familiar with those terms. I'd like to post some of my art here too, if I can!
