For those who didn't bother watching the Broncos/Steelers Wildcard game because they they thought it would be a lousy field goal war, and haven't already heard, the Broncos beat the Steelers 29-23 in Overtime. They did it on the first play of overtime, which was an 80 yard pass play actually. It took 11 seconds. That's literally a new record for the fastest Overtime in Postseason history.

To add insult to injury, Tebow threw for over 300 yards, two touchdowns, and no picks. He even ran for a score.

Against the #1 Steelers Defense.

And Demaryus Thomas got 204 receiving yards on the day. He's the only guy the Steelers have allowed more than 100 receiving yards to, and he got over 200. Go figure. All this without Eric Decker, who got injured in the beginning of the Second Quarter.

Thoughts?

My thoughts are its ironic, tebow just "stole" the "steelers" superbowl rings cause they underestimated him He is good at glitching the field and they didn't pay enough attention to that. But he is gonna need a lot of luck though to beat patriots and possibly greenbay if they make it that far. I'm sure NFL exec's are drooling cause of the amount of publicity he has generated, it will give superbowl more hype.

And all was well.

I hate the Steelers. So I'm glad this happened.

Tebow could somehow lead this Broncos team past the Patriots with a lot of luck.

Wow, the Steelers fail so badly. I ran across an article saying that because of the Broncos line formation on that play, the play should've been marked as illegal, but it doesn't matter now. Can't be penalized after the game's over.

However, I doubt they'll beat the Patriots. They know what Tebow is up to.

vizwiz123 :

If anything... That play should be even MORE commended because of it. Who cares if 6 or 7 were on the line? The bottom line is in a crunch situation, Tebow threw a miracle pass that landed perfectly in Thomas' hands.

I'm more surprised by the New England media... living in NE, I hear nothing but Tebow hate right now, with one paper calling Tebow the "Anti-christ"

I know.

I live in New England, and hope the Patriots get DESTROYED by the Broncos.

I'm tired of the homerism and not realizing another player is good.

Calling him the Anti-christ goes a little far.

That was the first time I actually cared to root for Tebow. I must admit, it was actually a pretty exciting game. And the refs may have missed a call in over time (though apparently the league is saying that there shouldn't have been a call and the refs did the right thing on that play), but it's not as if there were no calls that went the Steelers way. By the end of the game, I thought the officiating was pretty even. There were bad calls that went both ways.

Another thing I noticed was that Tebow actually looked pretty good. Against the Chiefs it was obvious that he was afraid to throw the ball. He would second guess himself and it would only wind up causing him to panic and make a bad throw. But against the Steelers he seemed to get his confidence up immediately and looked very decisive.

Anyway, as a Pats fan, I hope the Pats can knock him off this Saturday. But in all honesty I think the Ravens are gonna win the AFC championship game either way and an NFC team will wind up winning the Superbowl. I'm rooting for the 49ers in the NFC right now, but I think it'll be the Packers. I'm just hoping it won't be, because they got to win last year.

soxfan849 :

What I REALLY want to see is Broncos-Packers.

That game would be epic.

The Super Bowl Favorites trying for the first repeat in many years...

versus

The upstart Broncos, led by their miracle maker Tim Tebow.

It could be a very interesting game to watch and certainly a deserving matchup if the Broncos can beat the Patriots and the Ravens (presumably.)

legacyme3 : That's almost the absolute last thing that I want to see happen. But if it does come down to that, I'll be the biggest Tebow fan ever.

Right now the teams I want to win are New England, Houston, San Francisco, New Orleans, New York then the Broncos. Hate the Ravens and, like I said, don't want to see the Packers win again. So the only thing worse than a Packers Broncos Superbowl would be a Packers Ravens one (though that would actually probably be a pretty fun game to watch).

Simply out of curiosity, who is your favorite team?

In the playoffs? Probably the Broncos.

Outside the playoffs with every team? The Cowboys. I've liked them since I was like 6. I have a Cowboys blanket from my childhood in my room :3

Anyway, out of the teams I want to win the Super Bowl...

Broncos, Packers, Texans, 49'ers, Saints, and every other team follows in no real order.

I hate the Ravens, Giants, and Patriots. (yes, I live in NE and hate the Patriots.)

The best game for me is Broncos-Packers... The worst that could happen to me is probably Giants-Patriots :/

legacyme3 : Any particular reason why you hate the Pats, or is it just because of the team?

I honestly kinda want to see a Patriots Giants rematch, but then again if New England loses another one to them I'm gonna lose my mind. Especially if the give up a last second game winning drive

As for the Cowboys, I make fun of them and Tony Romo a lot, but I do actually like the team. I always have for some reason, though I don't really know why. I guess it's just 'cause I kinda liked their jerseys as a kid and now I like to watch them. I'm also hoping they get a chance to win one with Romo under center just because he's received so much criticism for his teams losses. Some of it is deserved, but certainly not all of it. He really is a good quarterback, and with a complete team he'd probably have a good shot at going all the way (if he can stay healthy).

Another thing I hope we get to see is the Jets drop Sanchez for someone else and he goes on to win the Superbowl in his first year out of New York. That would be absolutely hilarious to me.

soxfan849 :

Not a Tom Brady fan. My step sister met him, thought he was a bit of an ass, which I've always told people before I knew anyway.

I am just not a fan for whatever reason. I hate bandwagoning though, so that could be it too.

And yeah, Romo is a great QB... he just gets a lot of undue criticism. A lot of the problem is the offensive line :/

And that would be hilarious

I refuse to call the Bronco's victory over the Steelers as "luck" because that would imply there is another higher force out there other than God. I am a Christian after all. I do not know whether to say Ben Roethlisberger made a mistake trying to hold onto the ball or the Bronco's defense made the right moves in those final moments of the 4th quarter. I will say that, because of how close that game was, it will be major challenge for the Broncos to beat the Patriots. Even so, I really hope to see the Broncos take on the Ravens soon. I am a Ravens fan but I really support Tebow as well, and I do not care who the winner is between the two of them.

I'm glad for Tebow, and wish him no ill-will, but I think the whole "jesus loves him and that's why they are winning" crap on TV got old a long time ago. I was hoping that he would lose, just so I didn't have to hear about him as much, but sure as s**t there he goes throwing a bomb on the first play of overtime. Truth is, that the Steelers defense really laid an egg on that play, but Tebow made the throw he needed to...to a wide open receiver streaking across the middle.

At least that game was exciting though, the rest of the games last weekend were bad.

The Broncos got utterly smashed. It was exactly the kind of game I was hoping for. Now it's time to root for the Giants and the Texans.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
