What is the best cheat code of any retro game ever made?  Demonstrate how to use that cheat code by taking screenshots of you applying the cheat code and using it.  Be sure to give your submission a title and also a description on what the cheat code does and how to use it.


Rules:
-Your submission can be up to 5 screenshots
-No more than 3 submissions per a user
-Be sure to give each of your submissions a title and description
-You MUST use the Vizzed RGR Plugin to take the screenshots
The Screenshot you submit has to be a screenshot you took with the RGR Plugin and the URL of the image has to be the same url of the image of the screenshot you took, you cannot upload your screenshot somewhere else and use that as your submission, you have to use the actual url of the images that were uploaded when you took the screenshots.

Super Castlevania IV - SNES

Directions - Make sure you go to continue game at the title screen. Leave the name blank and enter the code as you see it below. It will let you get to the very end of the game in the fight against Dracula.

Here's a classic one nearly everyone knows.

The Konami Code:
On the title screen of Contra for the NES, press the following: Up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, start. You will now start with 30 lives instead of just 3!

Just don't forget the alligator mouths (< and >) as well as the quotes. Every bit of it is important.

I don't know if this is a problem for me on all games, but this is now the 2nd time I've noticed that I can't take a screenshot on the Plug-in. Oh well. Would re-installing it fix my problem? 

Well, this cheat is pretty much straightforward, anyway. 
Toy Story for Sega Genesis:
On title screen when it says "Press Start," you can quickly hit the following buttons before the screen disappears to enable the ability to skip levels in the game:
Genesis buttons: A,B,Right,A,C,A,Down,A,B,Right,A  
Default RGR buttons:  A,S,Right,A,D,A,Down,A,S,Right,A
Woody will say "Hot! Hot! Hot!" to confirm that you have done it correctly. During any level you can now hit start to pause the game, and then press the Genesis A button to skip the level!

David - A question was sent to the rgr staff about whether or not game genie codes would be applicable for this. I'm thinking that the those would be a different scenario than this, but wanted to confirm.

tRIUNE : I don't think any of the systems in the RGR Plugin support Game Genie so it wouldn't matter.

Yeah only SNES with the plugin has that option in the menu, but I've not tried myself to see if the codes actually work while using the plugin.

tRIUNE : If someone can confirm for me that it does work, than I can allow it.

Debug mode cheat code for Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for Sega Genesis



Select options at the title screen (below 2-player)

Play songs 19, 65, 9, 17 by pressing C (D on the keyboard) on each one. A ring sound should play.

Press Start to go back to the title screen.

Hold A and press Start to go to Level Select. In Level Select, play these sounds in order by pressing C (D) on each one

1, 9, 9, 2, 1, 1, 2, 4

Select a level, hold A and press Start.



To activate Debug Mode, press B (S) - Sonic will turn into a ring. Press A to choose different sprites from that level, the arrow keys to move him, and C (D) to place them. Press B to turn back into Sonic. You can go through objects in debug mode, so you can go through a level by pressing B (S) and holding right until you reach the end. You can enter debug mode after you die, too. Then you can move yourself somewhere and it will be like you never died.

legacyme3 : Re-installing didn't help in the slightest. I can still use the saved state buttons, so it's not that the F buttons don't work. I've been able to do it before, I can't remember when I first noticed it didn't work for me. Anyway, the game still makes a split second pause in sound, etc as if it's taking the screenshot, but I get no "Screenshot" message or anything like I used to. It doesn't appear in my files either, so it's not taking the shot. And I had a couple more cheats I wanted to submit, too. Oh well. Not like I have the time to get to Cinnabar Island....

danielbelitch : I've had that happen recently. I uninstalled the plugin then ran the newest version of CCleaner for a windows and application cleanup then registry cleanup, then reinstalled the plugin and it was resolved.

I think it has something to do with a temp file in your application data folder, but I'm not really sure. Give that a try though.

Best cheat code? Too easy. For the hit Nintendo Entertainment System game METROID:











That cheat code we've all heard a million times, the subject of much debate and speculation, yes, I'm talking about the infamous JUSTIN BAILEY.











Justin Bailey is well known not only for it's mysterious name, but for the fact that it places you right at the end of the game. Samus is maxed out on missles--in fact, due to a glitch, she has more missiles than she can normally carry having 255 instead of the usual 205, and if you collect any more, your missile count will revert back to 205. Samus also has five energy tanks, which is more than enough for the skilled player to defeat Mother Brain. She also has the Screw Attack, Varia Suit, Hi-Jump Boots, and the Wave Beam. Kraid and Ridley have already been defeated and the path to Tourian is now open. All the player needs to do is find the Ice Beam and make it to the Mother Brain.





But perhaps what this cheat is best known for is the graphical change it produces to Samus. Yes folks, this little bit of fan service lets us play as Samus, not in her power suit, but in her skimply little bikini. This bikini is probably what lead METROID to be such a huge success, and no wonder, just look at her!











The speculation on just what this code means and who Justin Bailey really is has been raging for years. Many think he was some Nintendo employee who happened to get his name into the code some how. Some think it's just a random happenstance of the games programming, but whatever the case, Justin Bailey is one of the most widely known video game codes of all time, and thanks to this deserves to be declared the best cheat code of all time.

Yeah,If you people are still wondering,Yes the Genie and PAR codes work on the Snes with RGR plug-in. I tried it on more than one game so it does work. Just thought I'd confirm it for you guys.

A lot of you know Tetris. A lot of you know the Konami Code. What some may not know is that the two came together in a game. That is Tetris made by Tengen.
Here's how you do it. First, start and play a game as normal.
OK, middle of a game, good stack built up. Oh, but look at the next piece. THERE'S NO PLACE FOR A J TETRAMINO.

I'm gonna pause the game and think about my next move. Say, what happens when you input the Konami Code? I'm gonna try.

Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A. Look at that! It turned into an I tetramino!

Use this I tetramino however you wish, but use it wisely, it only works once per level.
