I'm a senior citizen who now has time to play all the games I couldn't before. so imagine my delight when I typed in 'free online ocarina of time' and found vizzed..  I do have a couple  questions however: do I understand correctly that you cannot play  games unless you have a certain amount of viz? how much Viz would I need to play ocarina of time  and for how long could I play? and since I just get the white empty boxes when I try to play ocarina of time, presuming that;s because I don't  have the appropriate video card,  what video card would I need to be able to access ocarina of time? thank you to anyone who replies.  happy gaming everyone

Well, first, I would like to say welcome. You might be the oldest member here Anyway, here are answers to your questions.

The amount of Viz required to play is determined by what game system it is for. The way it works is that when you play a game, you purchase that particular game with your Viz. How long you play is unlimited. Once you purchase it, you never have to pay Viz for that particular game again. Here are the costs of games.

Apple II: 5 Viz
Game Gear: 10 Viz
Master System: 10 Viz
Nintendo: 10 Viz
Game Boy: 10 Viz
Genesis: 25 Viz
Game Boy Color: 25 Viz
Super Nintendo: 25 Viz
Turbo Grafx: 25 Viz
32x: 30 Viz
Game Boy Advance: 40 Viz
Nintendo 64: 50 Viz
If the game for the system exceeds a certain size, than it's Viz price will be dynamic and different; here's how much the game would cost if the game was larger:
1-2 MB: 30 Viz
2-3 MB: 35 Viz
3-5 MB: 40 Viz
5-10 MB: 50 Viz
10-20 MB: 75 Viz (only some gba and n64 are games larger than this)
20-40 MB: 100 Viz (only some n64 are games larger than this)
40-60 MB: 150 Viz (only a few games this large)
60+ MB: 200 Viz (only 1 game this large)

You may notice that there is no Atari price. That is because Atari asked Davideo7 to take the games down, so he legally had to.

As for the Ocarina of Time, this is a common issue. It seems it is a graphics card issue for you. The problem is, a lot of the N64 games are different on which graphics cards they will or will not work with. Almost every user can play certain N64 games here with no problems, and can't play certain others at all, and it varies from user to user. I can't really say which one you should get, as it doesn't seem to be an issue with the quality of the graphics card, but whether the N64 game you wish to play happens to be compatible with certain graphics cards. As of right now, there really isn't an available fix for this issue right now.

rcarter2 has the answers to your questions, and I can concur with what he said about the N64 games. In late November of this year (2011) I got a new laptop to replace the one I already. My experience of Star Fox 64 changed drastically; now I can't enjoy the game --no one is at fault for this. I do hope other games you're looking for work just fine.

Vizzed has much more than just the Retro Game Room. If you are every interested, check out the Vizzed Board and join in the discussions. We have places to talk about nearly any topic, from the latest news and controversy to the fun and pointless. If you have any questions about the Vizzed Board, feel free to send me a private message.

Hi plex, great to meet you and welcome to Vizzed! It's interesting finding someone so wise joining us here on Vizzed board. =)

So I can see that you're a fan of Ocarina of Time. What other games are you also a fan of? Personally, I like Pokemon, Zelda, Mario, Mother, among others.

Don't be afraid to post around the Vizzed board, too. I'm sure you could have a lot of things to share with the rest of the community!

Enjoy your time here at Vizzed! If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to PM me or one of the mods!

Welcome to the vizzed. I am also a fan of legend of zelda games, mainly Sky Walker but I really need to fix my gamecube cd...

anyway, I deeply really hope you will post around, having fun and such. Don't worry about posting in help forum, we all will not bite, well some crazy hyper users might.
