s fairly well known that Pocket Monsters for the Gameboy was a huge hit when it came out in early 1996 in Japan. It's also fairly well known that the Lavender Town music was changed before the western release of the game. There are wild stories and mass speculation pertaining to this. In particular, rumors circulated of binaural beats and high-pitched frequencies being used in the original music to induce feelings of discomfort, which went almost entirely unnoticed by adults. There are also claims of children, usually close to 100 in number, committing suicide because of the music.
What isn't fairly well known is that the children who died were actually part of a pre-release playtest group in late 1995, consisting of around 1,000 children from the Osaka area aged between 6 and 12 years old. These children were all given a beta copy of the game on a legitimate-looking cartridge, and allowed to play at their discretion. Many of the children got as far as Lavender Town, but few continued playing after that. Out of those children, many exhibited odd symptoms, including tremors, insomnia, hallucinations and excessive picking or scratching at the skin. Indeed, many of those purported suicides were actually cases of suffocation or unchecked convulsions in the night...although some children did kill themselves in seemingly deliberate ways. The connection was immediately made between these severe cases and the music in Lavender Town, and the beta copies were recalled immediately and the music changed.
This is the music from that beta version of the game, before it was ever changed.

things within that should best be forgotten.One video appeared on July 26, 2010, which involved a ‘special software which would analyze the audio’ of the Lavender Town music. When played while using the software, it created images. A few of these images at the end of the video, strangely, resembled the many forms of the Letter Pokemon, Unown. Ever since this video was put up, there has been much controversy and unanswered questions such as ‘Why did Unown appear in that video?’. This question is unanswered because Unown didn’t appear until the Generation 2 games: Gold, Silver and Crystal versions.

The  song I have read has beats to hype you up about things..

Heard it and god its scary. I was awake for 2 days straight and I'm 17. I also heard the seizures on an episode of pokémon which children had because of flashes. Want to here something sad. In S.S Anne you fought gary's raticate which died. Gary wants to avenge the death of Raticate by training to be stronger. His dream to be the first orphaned pokémon champion came true but was ruined by Ash. His dream lasted for 3 hours. His Grandpa came to congratulate Ash and looked at him dissappointedly. Gary lost his grandpa's love and respect. An orphaned boy's life got ruined by a boy named Ash Ketchum.

People have to listen to it veery carefully at night for a good 10 minutes. That's what I did

Summoning you guys just to say,

It's all fake.

This urban legend is part of a series or scary story things called creepypastas, which are all fake. Granted, this story (among others) is pretty creepy, but has many holes in it. For example, if the music caused tons of suicides by young kids, then tons of Japanese kids would have committed suicide. WHICH DIDN'T HAPPEN!! So this thread should be closed.

By the way, yes, I did see the video, and the music is horrible, but that's all. I don't feel sick, or anything you say happens.
