For those of us who drive, or rather have been drivers for more than several months, I have an interesting question:

Based on your driving habits and all the little things you do, do you think you would pass a driving test if you took one today? By habits I mean things like, but not limited to, do you come to complete stops, do you multitask with stuff, do you buckle up first or always use your blinker, etc.?

Let's hear your answers.

I'm confident I'd pass a driver's test if I took one now.  My driving habits haven't changed drastically from when I first started.

I would pass mainly because there is no way I am doing any of my habits during a test. But if you are asking if the way I drive would pass a drivers test, I am sure it would, but I would definitely get docked some points with the habits I do have. I follow all road rules 100%, but I do tend to talk on the phone 1/4 of the time. I eat while I drive when I have to. Stuff like that.

I've been driving for 14 years and it's a part of my job.  I'm professional, I pay attention to laws and I never really go faster than five over the limit.  I would absolutely pass a test with no problems.  I'm patient and disciplined when I drive.  I have one ticket over 14 years and one accident when I just started.

Otherwise it's a perfect record.

Like rcarter2 said, I would definitely pass, because I know what the grader would expect and want me to do. But if I was being graded on my daily commute... Probably not. I roll through stop signs like nobody's business. And if a road is long, and empty, and for some god-forsaken reason has a 45mph speed limit... Well, let's just say I do not pay attention to those little white signs as much as I should.

But all in all... I stay in the lanes, which is better than most people. And I never text whilst driving (except when stopped) and try to stay off the phone. I've never hit anyone (Though I've been hit twice--both times while fully stopped) and only have one speeding ticket. But that's not really even my fault! I mean, who puts a speed trap in a 35 zone on a four-lane divided highway that stretches for 26 miles? It's ridiculous to think that I'd crawl that long!

Oh I also get terrible road rage so that wouldn't help me either.

I'm sure I would pass. It wasn't too long ago that I took my driver's test and got my license, so I'm sure my abilities haven't changed since then. ....Though I would love to be able to speed on the street and swerve around cars, but alas, I cannot do that until I work for the law.

Interesting question. It's really hard to say because I barely passed the first time, 1 more point and I would've failed.

I have great driving habits:
-Always wear seatbelts
-Constantly looking in my mirrors
-Always use a blinker
-Rarely speed

The only thing that would probably cause me to fail is parallel parking, literally the last time I've had to parallel park was when I took my driver's license 10 years ago and I didn't do a great job of it (which is why I barely passed lol).

I think I would pass a driving test now, no problem. The truth is, those tests aren't the hardest unless you have minimal driving experience. Truth is it's not like you have to get 90% to pass or anything. The written test is probably the hardest to remember everything. The behind the wheel would be a breeze. The only issue would be to be conscious to not let bad habits creep in that you may have picked up over the years. IE not having both hands on the wheel at all times.

The only thing I might have an issue with would be parallel parking. I've never been great at that, but then again I've never been tested on that. So it shouldn't be an issue.

Parallel parking is super easy, but a lot of people tend to muck it up. I'm pretty good at it, except that I always end up about a foot further away than I intended. Not out in the road or anything, just a bit farther out than  most people park.

Hey, just wondering here Cero, but has people and their driving skills gotten any better in the past ten years in Seattle? This would be useful information for when I land on Saturday. And I especially like Rain Forest CafÈ in Tacoma Mall. Is that alright with you?

I can say that It is a moderate chance of me passing the test if I had ever had to retake it. When it comes to the written part of it I usually miss a few things about it, but the road test was a snap, except for the first time I took it.

thing1 : I would say only in the Tacoma area. Seattle gets busy and I haven't had but one dumbass to deal with.

So all you other drivers would pass a test doing your driving habits?

If I took the test today I would probably pass. I try to obey all the laws around here and I feel confidant in my driving abilities. The only thing I can't do is parallel park, but that doesn't really matter. I live in Oklahoma and having to parallel park is so rare around here that they don't even test on it. Other than that the only bad habit I have on a daily basis is I don't always wear my contacts...oops

I'm pretty sure I would pass a written and behind the wheel driving test if I took them now. Although I might get dinged for not having my hands and 10 and 2 like I should, the rest of the stuff is pretty much second nature since I have been driving for so long now.

I am pretty sure that I would be able to pass one again today, I remember most everything that I had learned from driving.

Of course, there would be those few things here and there that I would forget, but yes, I would pass it.
