After finding out that proactiv and the education connection commercial are very annoying, I happen to find out the most annoying thing that almost every one is experiencing....Toll Free.  I cannot stand Toll Free calls.  They call like every hour and it is so annoying to just go to the phone and seeing the same number calling every day.  If there is a way to block the number, please tell me, I am tired of seeing Toll Free on my phone every freaking time.

Yeah, those marketing solicitors sure are persistent, aren't they?

I'm not sure if it's possible to block their number. It might be due to the kind of phone you have. The best thing to do is ignore them and only give your number away to people you trust.

Ugh-- I HATE that!! Probably about 80% of my calls are all toll free >
I think there's a legit "No-Call" list you add your info to- i don't know the details tho-srry :/

I think the only reason my dad wont do it is because he's too lazy lol

If you just look up the Do Not Call List you can find out everything you want to know. Basically, you provide them with your phone number, and it is put out that that number is not to be contacted by telemarketers.

I actually need to do this for my new house number. It's not as bad as at my old house, but still annoying.

Once you do it, you might get a call now and then, and all you have to say is "Not interested, and I am on the Do Not Call List, and they make sure to remove your number from the dialer. Even if you don't have it registered, a lot of automated solicitors will give you the option of removing your number from rotation.

Honestly, we do not have that problem too often. Admittedly the bank calls offering credit card deals and some telemarketers but for the most part its quiet, and the calls are always a reasonable space apart.

I found speaking a language they do not understand helps reduce the calls further or actually finding a way to make the telemarketer impatient (being a slow as possible and deliberately not returning to the phone after spending several minutes thinking if the person is home).

I've added my number to the no-call list and it stops the majority of those calls.

Then you have these solicitors that call and say "this is not a solicitation" then proceed with the 'automated' telemarketing message. Facepalm at these people with their 'this is not a solicitation'.

Just hang up, or you can get clever about it if it's a live person and prank on them.

Just check this out

tRIUNE : nice

Yeah, the no-call list is pretty great. Although, it doesn't keep you safe from the people who are not trying to sell you stuff, but trying get you to take surveys and such. I know because I worked for a telephone survey company for about 2 months.....But yeah, sometimes, the solution is to not get mad, but have fun by completely wasting their time. They will continue to try to make a sale, and you can just keep them on for as long as you want to give them false hopes. Hehehe.

I saw something on the news a while ago. Keep a record of the dates and times that they call. If you can, also write down the name of the person calling and the company they work for. Each time they call, ask the to put you on the Do Not Call list. If they continue to call, you can legally sue them. Not a bad way to make some extra money This is legit though.

Get caller ID? My family did that and it allows us to screen the majority of 1-800 numbers and call centers.

I freaking hate toll free calls. Why don't they realize that NOBODY WILL ANSWER.I almost broke the phone one time when toll free called and I was playing TF2.GOSH they annoy the heck out of me.I have caller ID but whenever I see toll free call I just think stop freaking calling.Plus the phone constantly ringing drives me insane. The advertising here in the U.S. is the most annoying in the whole world(probably)Though I'd expect that coming from such a crappy country.Dude your lucky to live in some other country.
