I figure this will get more popular when the playoffs actually start... but I think teams to watch are as follows

Packers, 49ers, Broncos, Cowboys.

All 4 of which I expect to be top teams come playoff time.

Regardless of if they do or not, I don't see them really being big players in the playoffs.

I just don't see the Ravens ending up with a wild card after they have gone 4-0 in the division so far, and seeping the Steelers for the first time since 2003... I just don't see the Ravens ending up with a Wild Card seed... I see them winning their division by either a full game, or by the tie breaker... P.S. I am a Ravens fan...

And you do know that is 2 wild card seeds, right? Not just 2...

The thing is that division just isnt very good right now. Yes, they've gone 4-0 in that division, but keep in mind who else is in the division.

Really, I see them making the playoffs, but losing first or second round at the latest. Not players for a title.

But for those 2, it's basically a cakewalk year round.

Two good teams a tough division does not make.

I just don't think you should get your hopes up. Anything can happen, but I wouldn't count on the Ravens having much a shot this year.

I just don't see them as a legit threat at present time. I thought they were a threat a couple years back, but they seem less likely to win now.

legacyme3 : let me guess... you are a Packers fan? Well, I think they aren't all that good... They have had one of the easiest schedules... The Super Bowl winners usually tend to have one of the easiest schedules the following season. I am not disrespecting them; I just don't think they are all that good.

Nope. I'm just a football fan. I root for the Cowboys, but not so much that I'm blind to the other teams.

While I am hoping my Cowboys win, I know realistically that the Packers are probably en route to a repeat.

legacyme3 : So you don't think the Ravens have a legitimate chance at all at the Super Bowl? Personally, I think it will come down to the last game for the Cowboys... and if they make it, they might get to the 2nd round of the Playoffs, but no further...

They have a shot. But I don't think they will. Cards just aren't falling in the right places. In all honesty, I think the Steelers have a better shot than the Ravens do.

It's nice to see my Texans find a way to win the last couple weeks with 2 star players injured and sew up the division.  I know the division is week but what a season for the Houston Texans to make the playoffs finally after all these years.  Go Texans!!!!

thing1 : I don't think the Ravens will make the Superbowl either, but for what it's worth I do think they have a shot this year. The deciding factor is if Joe Flacco shows up to the Playoffs or if his incompetent doppelganger shows up. He's far too inconsistent to be counted on in the Playoffs...

The QB position is probably the worst spot on the Ravens roster right now. Flacco's not that bad, so that says a lot about how good the team is, it just s**ks for them that their worst overall starter for the position played is their QB.

Also, I wouldn't write the Steelers off on winning the division if I were you--Yes, the Ravens would win any tiebreaker, but the Ravens are also more inconsistent and likely to lose a random game than the Steelers, and I believe they have identical records right now. And no, I'm not looking for an argument here. I think the Ravens will win the division too. I'm just saying don't let fandom cloud your ability to reason.

AFC

North--Ravens
West--Broncos
South--Texans (This one is already clinched)
East--Patriots

WILD CARD
Wild card 1--Steelers
Wild card 2--I'm guessing Jets on this one, but the Titans and Raiders have a realistic shot at it, and the Bengals have an outside shot.

NFC

North--Packers (Clinched)
West--49ers (Also clinched)
South--Saints (They haven't clinched division yet, but they HAVE clinched a playoff berth)
East--Giants (This is the hardest division to be sure on, but I'll guess Giants. The Cowboys seem to be collapse prone.)

WILD CARD
Wild card 1--Falcons
Wild card 2--Lions

There's quite a few teams that have a realistic shot at an NFC wild card slot, with some actually being pretty likely. Any combination of 7 (8 if you count the Saints--they might fall to wild card, though that is unlikely) teams is technically possible for NFC Wild card at this point, though 2 teams are highly unlikely. (Believe it or not, the Cardinals and the Seahawks are somehow on the fringes of the playoff race... They need to win out and hope everyone else loses out to stand a chance though. )
