Jigsaw and I have been working on a website together for the past week or so and have finally made it live:

Yes it does contain roms and yes I am posting this in general chat (the more links on the web that point to it, the better ).

Basically it'll contain complete rom sets for various systems, categorized by letter.

Jigsaw did most of the design and layout, I sorta helped him do the banner and I also did a few little things here and there (most of the design credit goes to him though). Basically my role was adding all the roms, creating all teh pages, converting his HTML pages to dynamic PHP pages, adding the current content, etc.

How does this benefit vizzed board? Click the 'forum' button

Teh site obviously still needs a lot of work, still needs a bottom banner, and most of the pages have no content yet. Also, on the pages which contain the links to download the roms, I plan on providing a entire list of all the roms in that set. The only rom's page which has roms (but still not much content) is the Super Nintendo page.

Anyways, give us full feeback, suggestions and comments are very appreciated.

Awesome David! Shameless promotion at its best. Not only are you using the site to push Vizzed Board, but you are using Vizzed Board to push the site. Thats quite the accomplishment!

You do know, though, that you can get in a lot of trouble for illegal roms, right?

I'm not a lawyer but I would tread lightly. I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to prove connection between the sites especially since the forum button links directly to here. As long as you keep threads like this though(leading to the site), I'm going to assume at least this thread shouldn't be posted since most other forums have problems with it.

Great tho. The packs being by alphabet I think is a great idea.

Well the site isn't completely owned by me but rather by both me and Jigsaw and it isn't considered part of vizzed so if it did get shut down, I don't see how they'd have any reason to shut down vizzed.

Also, the person who I'm hosted with, he's more like a small private host in a sense, and lets people pretty much host whatever they want. His entire host is made up of a team of just 1 person, which is just him lol.

That's why there is a disclaimer so we don't get in trouble

We also aren't selling them for profit so there should be no reason for legal matters.

Just so you know...I actually like to download single roms sometimes...

And this site is legal, because by stating that they have to be deleted, you can't really be shut down on the pretence.

I agree, would be better to download just a single file instead of a whole set unless the person wanted every game in the set. Not sure if David wants to do that though

Well the idea behind this is so that a viewer on the site can have all the roms for a specific gaming system by dowloading each of the letters. Also I plan to list all the roms included with each little set, and since most of these aren't that big, I'm sure if someone see's just 2 or 3 roms in a specific set that they'd be willing to download the entire set.

The reason why I'm not putting up each rom individually is pretty obvious...would take a TON of work to upload 5000+ roms and make pages for each. That could be something we do in the future but definitely not any time soon.

Just telling you guys that it's still 100% illegal and that you could get in trouble for this. But your choice.

There are tons of rom sites out there and usually the companies just ask those sites to take certain roms down. Usually teh very worst that can happen (or has every happened) is that they make you take the site down.

Well yeah of course but the risk of you getting sued to hell and back is still there. Maybe not big but it's there.

I owe enough in college loans... I could care less lol. Already have to pay thousands so I'm not to worried about being in debt as I will stay in it the rest of my life.

The SNES rom sets only contain games which were released in the USA. Maybe at a later point I'll make a set which just contains roms released in japan but translated to english.
