sonniku: Actually, it's not that I don't like Shadow the Hedgehog, it's that sonic 06 is one of my top favorites, honestly, as weird as it sounds.

Though, it's the overall fact that it's basically a joke to the franchise. It kinda ruins the ending of Sonic Adventure 2, by getting Robotnik to admit that Shadow in the game is the REAL Shadow, since he had his bots rescue Shadow as he fell to earth. That alone should really have been left a secret to the fans and been open to interpretation. Other than that, they tried to make it a darker game with the use of guns and stuff, and they overall failed and made it slightly goofy at times, for example, "FIND THE COMPUTER ROOM!".

bombchu link : To be honest, my memory for those games are a bit faded, really. Secret Rings came out after 06 due to the fact they didn't have it on a Nintendo system and wanted something more system exclusive for that (IIRC). Black Knight came after r slightly before Sonic Unleashed, but once again, faded memory on that bit. Shadow the Hedgehog, same as the others. Though, through process of elimination, I can say that it was AFTER Sonic Heroes, and I can only say that because I recall Sonic Heroes originally NOT going to be on the Playstation 2, but Sony told them that if they really ever wanted to get their games on the systems, they MUST get it on there. I may be getting my facts a bit messed up here, though. IIRC, they pretty much had an almost finished game before having to bring it over there because of Sony. Though, as seen later, it was at least worth launching a popularly criticized "sub-par" game. (Which I honestly don't think was so bad, really)

Green13 : Actually, he's more near 200 years into the future or more. It says it somewhere in Sonic 06, which may or may not be at the very beginning of Silver's story. I kinda forgot.

alexanyways : Though it shouldn't be, that's kinda hard to answer. I'd probably have to say that it varies from game, but the things that're probably the most realistic are the backgrounds, or environments in which the levels are in. Some good examples can be seen in some of the later games, such as Unleashed, which has its locations based on real places.
The least realistic thing is the physics, Nya~.

I'd guess Big was a joke character, if anything. He also helps with the variety of game modes in Sonic Adventure, and helps sponsor the SEGA Bass Fishing series (that last bit was a joke).
