There are not too many RPGs on N64, or worthy of the the title of RPG for the RPGs the system does have.

I'd say the best aspect of this game is that it's the spiritual successor to SMRPG - Legend of the 7 Stars. I think that's reason enough to at least play it... but the game does have a lot to offer in terms of the fun factor; not sure how else to rate the coolness, lol.

I think some of the reasons why Paper Mario has succeeded like it has is because of its witty story and dialogue, the familiar Mario characters, the unique battle system, and the paper-like transitions they use in the overworld. All of these really stand out to me, which is why I love the Paper Mario series so much.

Well its a very good RPG in my opinion.
I liked playing the original on the n64 because having a game where mario was made out of paper was a somewhat unusual but it turned out great.
In Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door, they made the graphics better than on the n64 and the different things you could do (turn into a paper ariplane, etc.) and your partners special abilities that you had to use to progress in the game.

Paper Mario's RPG style was awesome. Its a shame they took it out of Super Paper Mario, but they put it back in in Paper Mario 3DS I believe. So the main point is that Paper Mario's RPG landscape and its small adventures inside of it was the best part of it. I loved that.

The only Paper Mario game I got into was the Thousand Year Door, this one... I can't figure out what to do, and Chapter 2 is really repetitive, I never got past it. Either way, if I wasn't so impatient, this game would  be a favorite of mine. Super Mario RPG was superior in my opinion.
