I do because my teacher is gullible. Like if he sees I'm off task I'll tell him I heard a noise or something. Or if he yells at me for talking in class I'll tell him I was helping them with a problem.

I hardly ever need to make excuses seeing as I am always on time to class and the teachers know I do not do my homework I only ever have to make excuses when my teacher catches me sleeping in class and I say I wasn't sleeping then they ask why my head was down and I'll usually say I was reading. >.>

Yeah, I tend to do that a lot nowadays. I never get in trouble for something big, but I tend to get in trouble for small things. I'm generally seen as the nice guy out there that never lies, so no matter what kind of story I think up, my teachers always fall for things such as "I was late because of traffic." and "I didn't do my homework because I just didn't get it." Simple excuses, but they always end up working for me.

I used to do it all the time to try to get out of trouble whenever I could. My parents would always get upset over the smallest things, if my teachers told them about it. After getting out of high school, though, everything changed for me. Now that I'm responsible for myself, I don't bother trying to make excuses. I just what kind of punishment I'm given and try to avoid trouble in the future.
