These really 2 different types of games. Final Fantasy games are turn-based RPG games, whereas Legend of Zelda is more of an Adventure game. They're both good, but not comparable, at least, not to me they aren't.

I would have to agree with SilverThundr, and TimSparky. These are two completely different games. However they do share some similarities. They both have the puzzle solving aspect, NPC's, traveling to different areas, dungeons, bosses, and some other things that I forgot to mention. But yes, it would be comparing Mortal Kombat to Cool Boarders. I have loved both series, and have played and completed about 99% of them. I would just say that it is really too hard to say which one is my favorite. It would be like asking a parent to pick which of their children they love the most. But as far as the poll goes, I do find myself playing the Final Fantasy games more often, but who knows, maybe I will start off again with the Zelda franchise and have some fun
