This was a very common problem for almost everybody. Another user actually recently found a way around this freezing glitch, and he made a thread.

This has gotten a lot of users around the Jonathan Johns fight freeze, equip freeze, and the Axem Rangers freeze. It seems like your problem is the same as those common ones. Let me know if this helps you. I will need to know so I know if this thread needs to be up. I'll give you about a week to let me know
