Overall - 9
Donkey Kong Jr on the NES is a fun, classical game to play. When I played this, I really enjoyed it because it was more of a strategic game and it was a Donkey Kong game, obviously. This game was very popular back then and they made a math game out of this. I have not played it, but I am sure that it is to learn math for elementary kids and that is cool to do that. This game is still fun on this very day and I guarantee that it is so much fun to play.
Graphics - 9
The graphics are very good. It is similar to the original Donkey Kong game on the NES. The effects are good too. When you are swinging on vines and avoiding enemies, it just beings the awesomeness into the game.
Sound - 8
The sound is okay. I rather have a music background in it, but apparently not. The sound effects, however, is great. The way you move sounds so funny, but is what it is in other games on the NES. The hearing you jumping and getting points by jumping over enemies is a good feeling of hearing when you are playing the game.
Addictiveness - 8
I would play this often because it is so fun and it does not get old for me. It is a never-ending game and I think that playing it some of the time is a good way to seeing that you would actually like it.
Story - N/A
There is no story in this game, but there is a description about the game. Donkey Kong is kidnapped by Mario and it is up to Donkey Kong Jr to go and save him. That is basically the point of the game and what a great way to change things up comparing Donkey Kong on the NES.
Depth - 6
The game does not have much to offer. There is little in the game since it is an NES game. What it has is that you can climb on vines and you can jump over enemies (obviously). Unlike the first one, this game has four levels. It would start over after you beat the fourth level, but it would get harder for every time you beat the fourth level.
Difficulty - 5
The game is not that hard, but controlling Donkey Kong Jr can be a little difficult. For instance, when you climb on one vine, you move slow, but if you climb down on one vine, you go fast. If you climb on two vines, you go fast, but if you climb down on two vines, you go slow. I have no problem with that, but I just want to beat the game faster and it takes time to rotate on each vine. the enemies are pretty much easy if you play "A" instead of "B."
Wrap Things Up...
Donkey Kong Jr is very fun to play and it can be some times fun to play with friends on beating their high scores. I highly recommend trying this game out if you have not already. It is a great game to play, especially if you are bored. Overall - 9
