I have to say that I do not even notice anymore when someone drops the f bomb or any other cuss. I guess that is because I cuss quite a lot and I hear it almost all of the time. I do not really like the cusses but I have to say that I hear them all of the time. I do not even notice when someone cusses and sometimes I cuss when I am not really supposed to. I just cussed yesterday to my mom by accident and she was shocked.

Well, since I have a family of young kids I've more or less stopped swearing altogether (around them at least) so I do notice it. I also find it quite offensive when people swear for no good reason.

I understand there can be a time or place for it when you're angry or when something serious is happening but I've heard people say f*** 8 times in a minute just because they could. They were having a normal conversation and felt that f*** fit into that conversation 8 times. That is going way overboard.

Not especially, it depends on what situation someone swears in. If it's just me and my friends I don't notice it, because it's socially acceptable. But if someone went up to a priest after mass and went 'that was a f***ing great sermon' I'd definitely notice.

I honestly do not find it funny just because it is not even a joke just really a word and a way to use it. Also I try very hard not to cuss around kids just because I have no reason too. I do not cuss for fun or anything but if someone tells me or reminds me of something that I am screwed for I will probably say a cuss.

around here, swearing is practically integral to the language, so much so you can get a conversation going just by saying, have you ever actually heard him swear?and then everyone debates whether or not said person swears, lol.

Yes I do notice. It's rare for me to hear someone cuss so whenever I hear people cuss I notice it. Most of the time I do notice when someone belches profanity regardless if it is in a normal conversation or not. The reason being is that I try as much as I can to avoid swearing at all. Sometimes is actually does sound like a profane word "fits" into a sentence, but even then I still catch it.

At work my co-workers cuss like a 2nd language and I always have to tune them out because it just sounds ridiculous - every other word (sometimes literally) is cussing.

Personally I think that it's unintelligent speech; I used to cuss like them when I was younger...well, maybe my faith in Christianity has something to do with it now but I still think it sounds stupid.

I only really notice it when it is a kid, someone is overusing it a bit, or if it just sounds awkward when a specific person swears. You know the people who never do so they don't know how to make is sound natural. it is funny when they try to swear, and it makes it hard to take them seriously.
