Never. Our teachers are pretty jerkish about the bell. They do not care about your time as they feel that you are always wasting theirs. Well once the bell saved me.... I had to do a project in Spanish about my family, but i was missing the pictures I had of my grandma and my brothers, so I went up there, took a deep breathe, and I began to unroll my thingy and the bell rang and I took it home and got a pic of my bros and grams.
And once during a speech I was supposed to memorize the announcements went off and gave me a long enough pause to remember the majority of the rest of my speech.

I was about to get points taken off of my conduct card (basically an agenda with points. I don't remember the last time but I do remember when my
10th grade science teacher was checking everyone's homework
by coming to everyone's desk . I didn't do my homework so I was 
lucky to be sitting at the back since he always checks the people
in the front first. So I was quickly trying to answer my homework questions
as fast as I can . When he had almost got up to my table I had 3 questions 
left to answer . I was writing really , really fast to the point that my hand was
hurting but I had to eat the pain so I wouldn't get an zero for homework.
I had one more question left and he was " two " tables away from checking
my homework than suddenly the school bell rung and saved my butt.

I was soo lucky that time ,you have no idea .My heart was beating fast
and everything.
