Did you ever skip a grade in your life. If so which one?

I never skipped a grade, but I tested out of Geography, English, and World History in highschool. Now, that I'm in college it's not that easy though. Sucks.

Matthew2321 : Depends really. Your parents tell you that all your life, but the reality is far different. Yes, a college graduate can make up to 45,000 more/year than a non-college graduate in the same field, but companies nowadays don't necessarily want the best candidate for the job, they want the cheapest. To most, hiring three different HS graduates in a year is cheaper than hiring, and keeping, one college graduate. Then, you have the people who's major was/is psychiatric medicine/psychology, they are screwed. Unless you're opening your own practice, working for a living in any kind of mental health field is next to impossible. There are exceptions so don't respond w/ "Well I know this one guy..." or something because I know one of those guys too. What you really need to think about is that if you pay for college and fail/drop out, you'll have wasted far more money than you would earn in several years if you just hadn't bothered. If you're going to go to college you have to take it very very seriously while knowing how to have the fun required to keep your sanity at the same time. It's a fine balance and it truly is an extremely rewarding one, if it's for you that is. So don't put too much pressure on yourself because you'll burn yourself out and fail without even realizing it.

WooGie502 : Well you do know that you can owned a major job. And now these days, 45,000 is a lot of extra money to have. Not many people go to collage so there more jobs for you.

Not necessarily "skipped" but I didn't attend Pre-School. My mother and I agreed that instead of going to Pre-School, to wait till I was old enough for Kindergarten. Does that count?

I know of a genius that was skipped 2 grades in 3rd grade for being so smart.....

I didn't really skip a grade, but I spent half of class time in Kindergarten in the first grade classroom doing math.

YourMajestyKen : I didn't went to preschool. And I'm 13 (almost 14) and in the 8th grade. So no.

I almost skipped 4th, but I didn't.

Not sure why it didn't happen.

I was the most advanced kid in my kindergarten class, as I would do some of the teachers duties.  But, unfortunately for me, I have not been able to skip a grade.

I've never skipped a grade before. I see how you can skip a grade in your early years, but when you're in middle school or high school, it's hard because you leave all your friends in your old grade behind.

Nope never have skipped a grade. It would have been nice to though, to finish school earlier than you thought.

Nope, can't say I ever skipped a grade.

In fact, I was held back in Kindergarten for the sole fact that I had no friends by then.  =|

I was four years old, and I had to take Kindergarten twice even though I was clearly one of the smarter kids there.

I should have skipped straight to 4th or 5th grade, just out of spite.

I also skipped out on college for a few years because of a bout with clinical depression. =|

I had a rough life.

The same thing happen to me at kindergarten. They said I was to shy to skip a grade but, I was one of the smartest kids. I was mostly shy because, there was this girl I like who was just as smart as me.

Well,  I didn't skip the whole grade, but 3 of 8 of my classes this year are grade 10 classes and I'm in grade 9, so almost half way, but I'm working on it. I took this test in grade 7 and I was one of 4 people out of about 200 kids to pass. The test covered all of the grade 8 math curriculum. The other 2 are Cooking and Drama, but they don't have grade 9 classes so it's mixed up with 9s and 10s.

Unfortunately no. I'm not that smart. I did take an junior level course when I was a freshman though. Then again, so did about 20 or 30 other people

I never went to preschool. I guess that counts.

Nope, I don't think I ever did although it was on mind I never actually skipped a gradeI made through school the somewhat-hard-and-easy-way and I'm proud of that really
