Seeing how I've already lived in Mother Russia, I'm not trying to sound stuck up by making a poll like this but I just thought it'd be interesting to see what everyones opinion is of Russia and if people would honestly live here if they could.

It might be the land of opportunity but it's also the land of liberal Hollywood the land down under the communistic red land.

Nowadays it's a little risky. Putin has youth groups that are convincing everyone that democracy is for facists and that the American government is an enemy. Trust me, I'm doing a report on this stuff.

Well right now, tot ell you the truth, Russia is coming back slowly. It recently (Couple of months ago, like 4-7) had/ and is having, the .com boom. In other words, internet and computers are becoming a fad. Want lots of money? Become a programmer and go to Russia. Go. Now. GO GO GO GO!
It's economy is still recovering from Stalin and crap like that, but soon it will be back. Just be careful, if your a citizen and your 18, INSTA-DRAFT!

I don't think the Russians military (boot camp if you will) could be that hard. I'm looking to join the United States Marine Corp. at the end of the year roughly.

Russia would be sweet to visit but I don't know about living there, I adore my freedoms.

I don't even care if the military is hard or not. I'll go in the forces if I damn well please, not because some higher ups draft me into the army.

You asked for our opinions, don't expect them to all be nice. Don't get me wrong, I feel the same way about USA too. The fact that all countries are run by the elite I could care less whose is better or worse then others. We all live on Earth so it really makes no difference. Arguing won't get anyone anywhere. You probably feel the same about USA and thats ok, it's not really disrespecting me, and I'm not disrespecting you as a person, just the people who run the countries.

I always hear USA is full of ignorant idiots and it is true, but before judging the people in a country they need to judge the people who run it, those are the ones I'm mad at and make the people look bad.

I also blame the media too, always showing us the ugliest of other parts of the world. That's why I said I would rather live in a garbage can because from what they show us is nothing but people dieing, walls falling, and crazy stuff like that. I've also heard it is pretty bleek there but I have no clue I've never been.

Bottom line:
Screw media and screw the elite, they make people look bad.

Go ahead and say what you want about USA it will make me feel better because I have no respect for what my country represents at this point in time.

No offense taken, I just like to know peoples reasons for stuff like that.
Secondly, the people who run my country are temporarily out of power, I.E Putin. Whether or not Medvedev is a puppet to Putin is yet to be seen, and if he is, yes, Russia is going to suck. Let's just hope we wont be, and if he can turn Russia around, I will be happy.
