I don't know if it's just me but some members of vizzed board have some really sloppy layouts. Some layouts have so much text in them that it's so unattractive and hard to pick out the actual post from the layout. And some members have images in the background that make the text in front of it hard to read.

So, rules are:
1) Make sure that it's easy to read the text which is on top of the background within your layout. You should not require the user to have to highlight the text in your layout in order to read it

2) Don't have a huge layout full of useless stuff such as tons of text and images. Keep this stuff to a minimum. If you need to express yourself in detail, do so in your bio.

3) Please make the content of your actual post stick out from the layout itself. If I can't tell right away what is your actual post content and what is your layout, something isn't right.


I hate to be the bad guy here but I gotta be the one to layout the rules in order to keep this place more eye friendly. If you guys with layouts that fall under these 3 rules don't make some changes within a week I will delete your layout and if you try to put the layout back I will disable your ability to make a layout.

So then I should i get rid of the pictures in my sig? The unreadable text was easy... i just added a black background to it.

I havnt reuploaded pics for my layout yet.. (same with IW04).

David, your last comment kinda did make you sound like a bad guy. I have emailed a few people about there messy layouts, they just ask me to make them one.. . I'd make heaps more, but im busy enough as it is.

Yours is fine bigbob. If I would have said this in a friendly way no one would have taken me seriously. This way people realize it's a big deal and I don't want the board to look messy like a white trash trailer house

Remlee, I think you could possibly do without them lower pics in it. Maybe a <br> tag above and below where your post will be, to add padding.

BigBob85, there's nothing wrong with wanting to have a readable layout. I don't blame David for making this thread -- it's eye-soaring have to sift through text in both the header and sig to find the real post, huge pictures in the sig, or pictures not showing up.

I think I'm gonna leave 1 picture cuz otherwise theres just way too much padding. I already have a couple BRs on the header and sig.

Remlee: Good choice for putting the background behind the text. The picture in your sig wouldn't be so bad if it didn't appear as if it was squashed vertically (and it just sorta looks out of place, maybe a border around it would also help) - this makes it sorta hard to look at
1 or 2 pictures are fine if they are done in a neat way.

Maybe I should hire someone to make a few layuts for the "Premade Layouts" option located in the "edit layout" page. There's currently only 2 to select from, both of which I've made but it'd be good to have more so people who don't know html can select a premade layout and than just edit the layout from there to personalize it.

Is my layout okay? I like it vewy much. ;P

In another random note, Dave, the premade layouts do NOT work. I've tried them leads me to an error and logs me out. I dunno.
And since I'm on Errors, anyone know why when I click 'New Posts' it leads me to a blank page with the URL in it?

I see the problem with the edit layout feature, it leads to the wrong URL, I can fix this myself (surprisingly).

As for New Posts, strangely enough it seems to not work in Firefox, not sure why but I use IE so it doesn't affect me.

Dang, I personally have completely rejected IE, mainly cause I think it sucks major ass.

I use firefox, New Posts works FINE for me.. and Brad... so i say get FireFox 2.... Maybe that will help... failing that... ... get Opera...

Ugh, Opera sucks. Anyways, the layout problem is still there. Whenever I click it it "Supposedly" logs me out and says I have to be logged in. Good god! It's as glitchy as Bush is crap!

Your layout breaks the tables icewave that's why he edited it.

lol ironic that this was discovered in a thread about sloppy layouts, and i post with a "destory the page" layout... man i feel like a newb... However, FIXED!

Yeah I thought it was a bit Ironic to IceWave, gave me a give laugh to lol.

^^ Anyway... this layout is rather old you may remember it.... i used it WAY BACK in high school. Ahh i miss those days... but now days, i has a better layout... soon anyway.... GO BRAD GO!!!! Mr. Tired working and stuff like that!
