U4EA had the right idea. you don't say all the abillities you learn, you say the first step. make it basic, like lifeup or fire.  and try to use better reasoning than it's cool or i like it.

You know I think that all those PK I've never used in-game would make a great asset in real life.

Lv. 02 PK Brainshock Alpha (Making people feel strange?!? ... I can do it gladly without but stil...)
Lv. 05 PK Hypnosis (To do cheap pranks to the earth invaders)
Now I level up with only two weak status effect... But I have a dog! So nothing to be afraid!
Lv. 26 Magnet (Pretty useless since I only have two crappy spells unless It is more a Magneto style magnet)
Lv. 40 Rockin (To be the winner of american idol XD!!)

At Alpha level, it's useable only in one character, and it can kill by heart attack or mental breakdown after some turns, at level Beta, it's useable against every target, at level Delta, it can be placed at an area, at level Gama, it becomes touchable and at level Sigma, it becomes "Will Penetrating", making it impossible to resist.

With this Psi I would be able to attack and assist at the same time. Nothing can be better than this.

I would first learn this one to it's maximum level, and then would start to train the others.
