It doesn't hold true here really either. A new game that stinks still costs full price for a while until eventually the company says "yeah, we pretty much milked this game for all its got" and finally drops the price by $10 at a time

I payed $80 Australian for Black on ps2 when it came out, I liked that game so much I felt like I could have easily payed $100 for it. Theres definately more games being produced now than ever and telling the good from the bad can be difficult, so I always wait for some user reviews to come out before buying it.

The video games that I see in stores are ok price but some games are over price because they
don't give enough story mode or have terrible graphics or gameplay unlike super smash bros
brawl or pokemon diamond/pearl/platinum which give you well over the amount of gameplay
that it costs and is worth it to get good games like those instead of wasting your money on
other games that cheat you out of your money.

With the fact that the majority of the current games cost next to nothing to make, as oppossed to atari and nes games which used to cost alot to make, comparing the current costs to the previous costs is pointless.
