Well I for one don't begrudge him the question. Its always fun to fight against the man. You would be surprised at how poorly some Admins run their network. My favoritest thing to do in HS was set some 3 minute Beasty Boys song as the logout sound and then run away... after logging out. Also the microsoft sam thing is super fun to play around with in class. So apart from that...

BigBob is right it would be hard, yet you are inside the schools firewalls etc. and could probably even get a Ethernet cable plugged in. Then you could be a script kiddy and find some good programs... 2 of my friends just put together a wireless jammer, that was pretty cool but probably beyond what simpletons could do.

I think there's not even a purpose for hacking a mainframe for a school server. There's nothing in there that's important anyway besides the fact that you can call yourself a hacker if you don't get arrested within ten minutes of pulling it off.
