FFX is one of my favorite games EVER.

needless to say I'm excited.

Awesome. I'll definitely be getting this game when and if it's released. The original is cool, aside from Tidus being quirky; I've spent over 100 hrs on it.

I think they should still go through with the FF7 remake, that would be a lot better, but this is fair enough.

The issue is that to HD'ify those graphics? People may expect too much of it.

Either way, I am DEFINITELY getting this when it comes out (especially since it has to have trophy support)

well i don't have a PS3 or I would buy this but i never beat the one on PS2 i couldn't get passed that tank with the laser cannon

Well, this sounds exciting for sure. I never finished the original one, but the graphics and storyline were certainly beautiful. I can't imagine how clear it would look on the PS3.

I am NOT looking forward to this. I haven't for the most part thoroughly enjoyed a FF game since 7.


8...hated the draw system, kinda liked the weapon upgrade system, just not enough weapons. story was good though, big bonus there.

9...loved 9. Just an awesome game, yea it looked cartoony, but who cares, it was beautiful in its own right.

10...hated, story was ok, way way to linear. Sphere grid sucked horribly, levels...oh that's right what levels, not cool with an RPG without levels. blitz-ball....please don't make me hang myself, the game was easy, but just sucked, maybe because I hate soccer, I dunno.

10-2...big step in the right direction, loved the dress sphere system(mostly cause of the shout out to a class system), loved that levels were back, and the story...well...could have used some major work, the story was...blah.

11...not going there, MMO enough said.

12...decent, beat it but never really got to get into the game after that...to...linear, yea it was kinda open, but the game kept pushing in a linear direction to hard I felt, other than that, pretty good game.

12-2(can't remember the name)Never played so not sure what to think on this one.

13...haven't played, but heard mixed reviews from friends.

14...not going there, MMO enough said.

I agree with a lot of points except the following:

I did not like Final Fantasy 7 as much =| Call me whatever, but I could not sit through the game, the story was spoiled for me, so I never bothered playing it to see it for myself. I LOVE the story, but it's a game where if you had it spoiled, it won't be as good =|

Now to the other games

8 - Aside from the Draw system, I loved this.

9 - Couldn't really get past the wacky graphics. It just didn't feel all that great to me, I've played it all the way through, but the game was meh for me.

10 - Probably my second favorite game in the series, and the first I played. Story was interesting, not all the characters sucked, the sphere grid was actually pretty cool I felt, although maybe it's because I was a massive grinder. Plus, the introduction of my favorite mini game - BLITZBALL. Yes. It's easy, but it was a time waster. I spent a while perfecting my players to the point Tidus could shoot a sphere shot from the other end of the stadium.

10-2 - I absolutely hated this. It took X and made me wish they stopped there. This game felt completely unneeded, and the whole dressphere system pissed me off more.

11 - never bothered, it's an MMO.

12 - I loved this one. This is my favorite in the entire series. Aside from Vaan being a whiny baby, and being a complete waste of space, the cast was pretty awesome. The story was the best part, and the license system was a huge thing for me.

13 - hated it =| WAY too linear, and I generally don't mind linear games. It forces you down a narrow hallway for 90% of the game, and when you can finally explore, there's nothing worth exploring. The game was a complete and utter failure, and complete departure from the decent final fantasies. I'd prefer a complete remake of Final Fantasy 7 to this =|

I'm honestly very excited about this. I first read about this on Jul, another forum I go to, and I was ecstatic. FFX is my favorite Final Fantasy game and I can't wait to see it remade.

I'm mostly joking. I don't play for acheievements, but from what I hear it's the only real addition. So basically I'm buying the same game. Just on a blu-ray disc. xD

I would have to say that FFX with a HD remake would have to be a little bit better then the original but I mean they might also add different things to it and also might make the bosses even harder as well and make all the puzzles easier too  

I heard that this was coming out for the Vita rather than PS3, from one of my friends. That's not true, is it? Because then I'd have to go and buy the Vita to play it. x3

I heard it'll be both Vita and PS3. I hope it is. I'll be getting a Vita eventually, but HD benefits the TV, not a handheld.

legacyme3 : Has there been anymore updates on the FFX HD remake? I haven't heard anything since the remake was announced

Everything I've been reading shows they are still doing it. You'd be surprised how much just "touching up" graphics can take a team of well trained people.

I don't have an estimated release date, but keep your eyes and ears open, I expect a late 2012, early 2013 release, though I could be wrong.

I'll add this to the list of games I "plan" on getting. I put it in quotes because I probably won't get to everything so I'll go with priorities based off of which would satisfy my interests the most.
