My laptop is only about 2 and a half years old or so, so I have yet to have a computer malfunction. The only time I have had problems, it wasn't with my computer, but with the Internet connection. Never had a problem outside the Internet.

Define malfunction.

My screen is kinda messed up. It does that every time I adjust the screen. Let's say around a dozen times a day.

Besides that, it doesn't have too many problems. The display driver crashes once every few days, but that's only if I buffer a YouTube video, hibernate my computer, then try to watch the video later. If the driver crashes, then when it recovers the screens of anything I buffered is just a solid green.

Never. Anything bad that happens to my computer can be attributed to pilot error. Either that or a faulty program I'm running (Usually a game that had some bugs). The actual hardware itself has never failed me though.

Actually I take that back. The last hardware failure I had was back in 2007, but again, operator error. I had recently moved my computer and the CPU heat sink came loose. I did not notice it and burned out my processor. What a shame, it was a Core2Quad rated at 2.4 Ghz. Which back then (Heck, even now!) was something pretty special. Now I use an AMD Anthlon X2 6000+, which has no comparison.

Never. I didn't have any problems with the computer malfunctioning in like 6 or 7 years. Mainly because of faulty programs we had or games that were very buggy.

A lot. I'm don't have to much knowledge about computers to be honest, so when something is really up, I can't really figure it out. Just last month, the screen names on the computer was malfunctioning a lot. They were completely corrupted to the point where most of the programs and stuff on them were erased, practically reducing them to the level of a Guest. Only one worked, and my parents managed to remove the virus that was actually causing it before our last profile was corrupted, thank god.

I was getting a few errors a bit back, but then I noticed my CPU fan was spinning slowly...

Replaced it with a high-end one, and no problems!

My computer never really malfunctions unless it gets a virus and that doesn't happen often even though I'm using Windows vista/XP.


BTW: Why does vizzed say that I suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome because I don't.

ilawson : Vizzed has various "Syndromes" that you can suffer from based on the amount of posts you make in a 24 hour period. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome just means you have made less than five posts during the day. You can read more about syndromes here.

My last one maybe around 3-4 times a year but my new laptop works perfectly.

But malfunctioning meaning me having to shut it down because it froze up.

I'd say maybe it's around 1 time every couple of months? Anyway, I try to refrain from using it upstairs as it's getting older and won't allow as much stuff to be done on their without it crashing....

Mine malfunctions every now and then, with the occasional lag or stuff.

However, it has failed majorly two times already.

One day, not even a year from buying my laptop, just using it normally, it turned off and when I tried to turn it back on it said "insert boot disk". This happened once before and I fixed it by turning it off and then back on. But this time, doing that didn't work, I turned it off and on and off and on, but nothing else happened besides the BIOS popping that message up. It turned out that my hard drive had stopped working. So we just had to buy another one and install Windows on it.
The other time, I was using it normally, but then the screen stopped showing nothing, them mouse wasn't moving, any key presses did nothing. I turned it off and back on to find a black screen. No "insert boot disk" message appearing like the last time. So we took it with a technician and he found out my laptop was plugged with dust, so he cleaned it and it worked like new, once again.

It works well but it can't run many of the good PC video games because of it's slow processor.

every time that happens i hate it it really sucks dosen't it.

Well I destroyed my old computer. But before that it used to give me issues every now and again. I had ruined the battery, if that counts. And then it would blue screen on me on occasion. Somehow it never happened when I was working on something. Usually right before I started or right before I was gonna start browsing the internet. So it was really only a minor inconvenience. Then there were the times when I'd go to shut it down and it would be permanently stuck trying to update. I'm sure there was a better way to handle this, but I just wiped the hard drive and started over. Problem was solved.

After destroying my old computer, I got a new one. It's a Samsung and is bigger and much, much lighter. It's also only given me a problem once when it blue screened on me. I'm not sure what caused it, but it hasn't happened since. It's really new, so it's good that there aren't a list of issues, but I'm still enjoying how reliable it's been so far.

I have a netbook and  every once and a while my netbook goes to black screen and I have to get it repaired.

My computer rarely malfunctions...

Some times when I turn it on, the screen only shows various colors switching... However, I fix it by just turning it off and on again... Besides that, nothing really serious. 

I almost never have my computer malfunction. Now I have software/browsers that crash, but nothing really regarding my computer itself.

I don't know. Maybe every other day or something. My internet will go out, and then I will have to refresh the page to get it working again. So usually, it's my internet, but sometimes my computer acts stupid. Maybe 3 or 4 times a month.

Extremely, extremely rarely. The two problems I have had with the actual computer itself are both recent, and hardware-related. I've had to replace my HDD once. Not really sure what happened there, but one day I booted up my computer to find it was dead beyond repair. :| Thankfully, all of my files were saved on my external HDD and nothing was lost.

I should replace my battery (I have a laptop), except I can't really afford it right now, and it's not urgent. Once in a while it will freak out and cause my laptop to suddenly shut off. But it doesn't cause constant problems, and gives me no issues when my laptop remains plugged in.

Besides that, Firefox is the main problem I have. When Firefox crashes it also causes my webcam to freeze on Skype, which is strange.

I've got the BSOD a couple of times, and I've had a PC for a few years

My computer i don't think it ever malfunctioned. But sometimes it being going so slow that i think its about to malfunction because i be pressing and clicking so much things when it begin to act like that.
