So, I noticed that of the three threads of the school forum, 2 deal with hating something about school. I would like to post the first thread dedicated to students of any age who has questions about homework, projects, etc from their science classes. I am still in college to be a high school teacher in three fields, biology being one of them. So I would love to help out if I can. I also invite anyone who can help with these questions to feel free to answer. One thing I want to say for those people who want to help. Make sure you actually know what you are talking about to provide the best information to those asking for help. Also, looking at Wikipedia, answers.yahoo, or places like that does not count as knowing what your talking about. I prefer not to see a bunch of copy & pastes from other sites because those who are asking questions could have done that themselves, and that is not what they are looking for.

rcarter2 : Actually, this is not the first thread. I claimed first thread before geeogree trashed it. If you want evidence, go and look in the trash can. =P

Anyway, I don't think this thread will get attention, but if it does and someone asks for help, I can help out if I know the answer. I'm a junior, so I at least know middle school science, 8th, 9th, and 10th grade science.

Snowdeath : Oh, sorry I didn't see you had a thread like this. But I honestly didn't expect anyone to post here right now with school just starting and little help is needed. I am hoping when they get farther into the year, this thread will be more helpful. Only time will tell, I suppose. And I always appreciate people willing to lend anyone who has questions a hand

Well, this is a bit of a tangent, but do you think a homework help thread on Vizzed would be a good idea? It could be a place where students that are struggling can ask others who may know the answer. Of course, I don't want it to become one of those "give answers get answers" places.

I suppose, if I'm struggling in science, I'll ask for a bit of help here. Or I can help others that need it.

Someone70 : I see what you are saying. I don't want it to a "do my homework" site. I am hoping that It can be pretty easy to spot the ones who are trying to get all the answers on their homework answered here instead of struggling with a question. If we see one person asking a list of questions, it is pretty obvious they aren't doing the work, and I will put a cap on my responses. But if there are people asking a few questions once in a while, they are more likely just struggling with finding an answer. I'll just have to keep an eye out for those who might post only a couple questions, but do it like 3+ times in a day. But I will also make sure I don't just give a short post saying the answer. I plan on giving as simplified of an explanation as I can where they can find the answer within so they aren't just memorizing words, but hopefully learning something. 

But that is assuming anyone wants to look for help here. I'm assuming that since it is still the beginning of the year, nobody really needs help at the moment. But if it gets late in the year and nobody is asking for help, I'll ask a mod to go ahead and close the thread. I hope I don't have to do that.
