JayOhEssAitchYouAy : Raiders used to have a a great secondary. The loss of Nnamdi was big. I'd put them around 9 or 10 in terms of secondary strength around the league. I'll admit, McFadden is quite amazing, but you're right, he can't do everything. Oakland is NOT that good. Buffalo hasn't played a great team yet. 3 out of the next 4 weeks they play the Patriots, Eagles and Giants. If they can even come within a TD of beating one of those teams, I'll start to give them a lot more credit. But I need to see them do this against a good team.

Penalties kill the Raiders secondary.  They play the best man to man defense in the NFL.  That's why they let go of Nnamdi.  Nnamdi wasn't really a factor when he was with the Raiders.  He only sees 1-2 passes a game because quarterbacks are afraid of him.

JayOhEssAitchYouAy : Losing Nnamdi kinda throttled their Defense a bit imo. :/ I DO agree the Raiders are better than advertised, just don't say it's their secondary that makes them good. :/ Also, the fact that Nnamdi only saw 1-2 passes a game meant that whoever he was covering--be it Larry Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson, or whoever else he might be covering, only got thrown to 1-2 times that game. He might not put up numbers, but Nnamdi has a HUGE impact on the game. Take away an opposing teams best playmaker, and you're one step closer to winning. btw...

trouble982 : I don't think they'll beat the Patriots or the Eagles, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Bills beat the Giants this year. I agree that 7-9 is an okay win cap for them though. Personally I feel their upper limit is 9-7, but 7-9 sounds about right overall to me.

One more thing... Anyone think Newton will pull off 400+ thrice? To the haters. I wasn't a fan, but at least I felt he had a career ahead of him.

JayOhEssAitchYouAy : EXACTLY! And that means that Nnamdi was taking out their best wide receiver . Oakland hasn't looked good either of their first two weeks, they just play in a really easy division and were able to pull off a win against a bad Denver team. Barely.

WarpStarFerret : Cam Newton has surprised me more than anything I've ever seen in the NFL. I really expected him to be the next JaMarcus Russell. He's already proved to me that he's better than that. Also, the fact that he's lost both of those 400 yard passing games kind of shows the rookie, but the team around him isn't great. Also, yes I do think he COULD get 400 yards for a third time in a row.

And to add on to your question, do you think Tom Brady can go for 400+ 3 times in a row? He plays against the Bills this week so I'd say it's very possible .

If the Bills put pressure on Brady he wont even break 300 yards this week.  If they apply pressure and actually cause trouble in the pocket that is.  Without any pressure I think he actually throws for 450+.  I don't really think the Pats have the greatest secondary, nor do the Bills.  So you may see an all out air affair with Brady and Fitzpatrick trading touchdowns.  Fitzpatrick is the second best quarterback in the league right now. Only man ahead of him is Tom Brady. (For this season the first two weeks.)

JayOhEssAitchYouAy : HAHA so we should expect 51-42 this game then I suppose. The thing is, the Pats HAVEN'T had the best defense, but they've been able to cause turnovers. Also on a side note, if Tom Brady were to keep up his current ypg average, he'd throw for 7,500 yards, 2,500 more than Dan Marino's Record XDXDXD.

I think it will be a high scoring game.  Maybe 42-35 some where in there.  Could end up being lower though.  As far as Brady putting up 7,500 yards, that's never going to happen.  The first couple weeks always end up being like this then everything slows down.  As far as qb's putting up big numbers.

Yes, the numbers are higher than they've ever been, but they're always higher the first two to four games than they are the rest of the year.   Last year I think it was the Saints, Eagles, and Pats murdering people at the beginning of the season.  Then they all slowed down.  Saints couldn't even get out of the first round of the playoffs.

JayOhEssAitchYouAy : I wasn't being serious about the 7,500 thing. I still have my hopes up for a possible 5,000 yard season though .

4,500 tops if he's lucky.  There's always chance of injury though.  I don't think that would hurt the Pats any though they picked up Mallet.

Just saying this.

After week 2.

Cowboys.

Tony Romo is such a tank. Sure he's injured. But he REALLY put his all into that. That's the type of QB he CAN be. Now if only he gets it together.

I still think Romo is a bum in all honesty.  It's about time he takes a hit for his team and keeps playing.  If he throws less than 20 interceptions this year I may change my mind. Lol

JayOhEssAitchYouAy : I'll be the first to admit, I'm more than surprised at the way the Bills have been playing. They defeated a Raiders team last week that just ran over the Jets, and they just defeated my Pats. At the moment, they really look like they can compete for this division. Now, while I think they will finish alright, I still think they will end up finishing behind both the Pats and the Jets. But I could see both the Jets and Bills making the playoffs as wild cards. I guess the only stat I can really hold on to is that the last time the Patriots lost to the Bills, they went on to win 19 of their next 20 games, and the next 2 Super Bowls. The last time the Bills started 3-0, they finished 7-9.

Yea, that loss was a close one as well in Buffalo.  Then the next meeting in New England they demolished them like 42-7.  The Bills are no joke as I was saying though.  They are slept on because they don't have a lot of studs.  Only big names on defense are Barnett and Merriman.  Only big names on offense really are Stevie Johnson and Fred Jackson.

They definitely aren't one of the bigger and better teams in the league.  But, when they play the game they wanna play and the opposing team can't stop them from doing so, they're going to be tough to beat.

If they can keep it down to 2 turnovers or less a game, I don't really think they're going to be beat.

JayOhEssAitchYouAy : The Patriots hung themselves in that game, more or less giving the game to Buffalo. That is something rare, but every team has weeks like that. If the Pats had just played even remotley like they did the first half, they would have ran away with it. Buffalo is much better than I gave them credit for, but I still see 9-7 as their peek, possibly a wild card sleeper if they beat the right teams.

After seeing what the Raiders did to the Jets I think the Bills sweep them honestly.  The Raiders don't have half the fire power the Bills do.  They got a lot of big names but, everyone is injured aside from Campell and McFadden on offense.

I honestly don't see the Dolphins as a threat either.  And they don't really play anyone out of division that's a threat.  Only team with potential to make them look ugly is the Eagles if Vick is healthy when they play them.

Right now as far as league rankings go, Buffalo is an elite team. 1st in points. Third in total yards.  11th in pass defense which isn't amazing. I'm not a fan of their secondary though to begin with.  And 4th in run defense.

Only big name they have in the secondary is Terrence McGee.  He's not what he once used to be but, he's a hammer when it comes to hitting.  I'd love to see McGee be able to play safety before he retires.  He'd leave even more people hurting than he already does.

JayOhEssAitchYouAy : I suppose only time will tell, but I don't see the Bills sweeping the Jets or the Patriots. Both of those teams play way to well at home. The bills only beat the Patriots because 2 of the 4 interceptions were lucky picks that normally would just fall to the ground. I live in the Buffalo area, so trust me, I'm getting a lot of flack for being a Patriots fan right now

What's kinda funny and sad at the same time is that the fact that the Touchdown pass play on that last drive was called back to the one yard line is the reason the Pats lost... It gave the Bills a chance to eat the clock all the way down to 3 seconds for the game winning field goal.
What made it more amusing is that a Patriots fan was following the game over my shoulder and trying to say the Pats could still win with no timeouts, 40 seconds left, with the Bills having third and goal with the score tied.
I didn't really check the schedule, but I think someone said that since the beat the Patriots, the Bills have a realistic shot of going as far as 5-0. I wonder how far they'll go this season.

I live maybe 2-3 hours from Buffalo. Been a bills fan ever since I was 2 and 3 years old.  Went to my first professional game when I was 3 years old.  We went to watch the Cardinals Vs Bills in January.  So you know how the weather was.  I was a persistent little bugger though. Wouldn't leave for nothing until I got to meet Bruce Smith.   Used to have the replica Jim Kelly uniform and everything to wear while watching the games.  Pants, helmet, jersey, and pads.

And the Bills play the Bengals next, so you know they should bag at least one more win.  Forget who's after Cinci.

Lets go Bills!
