I haven't played the game, but saw video's of the ending of Halo 3 and wow what a disapointment. MC and Arbuter make it on a ship, then MC and the Arbuter get split up when going through a portal. Arbuter got through the portal with half ship and the other half with MC and Cortana. Back on earth with Arbuter and the captain, they did a ceremony with all the dead people who faught the war and the captain saids the hero (MC) is dead (but really isn't), then Arbuter goes back to his homeworld on his ship. Meanwhile MC and Cortana still alive somewhere in space talk among each other and MC goes into this cyrotube and goes into deep sleep. After awhile it shows half of the ship with MC and Cortana going towards a ring (Halo) with a planet and a bright light on the far side of the ring with strange music playing, then it ends there. They left it open again and they say this is the last of the Halo series except for the Halo Wars. Some say there is going to be a Halo 4, some say it might have a different name. I doubt there is going to be another Halo. Why would they leave that open like that?

maybe they wanted a bit more animate way to show the post "halo series" master chief... like for MGS - they dont directly show it... but after snake beats metal gear... its assumed he goes on to do other missions

Well the fight is over, so I don't really see how there could be a Halo 3. Possibly the movie would leave off from Halo 3? I don't know but I just think maybe they didn't want to kill master chief off possibly just incase they do plan to make additional games in the future or so they don't dissapoint fans. Either way, just because he didn't die doesn't mean there's going to be a sequel, there are plenty of games (and movies) that seem like they leave off for something but don't.

Of course, a Halo 4 would definitely be nice though.

Question: What do you think what kind of world would be on that ring world at the end of Halo 3? Use your imagination.

To me and many others, Halo is just a multiplayer shooter and could give a rat's about the story. We just want to shoot things in the FACE!
