I was going to announce this earlier but I was going to wait until the board was a little more active and since it probably wont get any more active than this for a while, might as well announce it.

As some of you know, I've been dating my GF Deanna for over 4 years (december 19th 2003 was one of the greatest days of my life). Anyway, on December 19th, 2006 (3 year anniversary at the time), I proposed to her. At this time it wasn't official because we told my family but we hadn't told her family and friends due to the fact that they'd judge us for getting engaged to young and other stuff but we made it official July of 2007.

The odds seemed to all be against us throughout the relationship. 3 reasons:
1) She lives about half hour away from where I live and I only see her 3 times a week (sometimes more depending on holidays, etc).
2) Age difference. I'm 3 years and 2 months older than her. Right now I'm 22 and she's 19 (the ages we'll be when we get married). When we first started dating, I was 18, a senior in high school, and she was 15, a freshman in high school.
3) We met over MSN messenger. A friend of mine from my town gave me the msn addy of a girl from another town and he gave me her addy one day. Now this girl I talked with for a little while and than that girl gave me the addy to her friend, which was Deanna, the one who I am now going to get married to. We talked about 4 months online, a few times on the phone and than finally met, and started dating the day we met.

I would really like to get a house but they require massive down payments and I haven't got much money saved up (even though I'd have enough for house payments), so I will have to probably settle for an apartment for while.

Hey, that's great man. I'm happy for you. My mom was 19 and my dad was 20 when they got married. And really you being 3 years older doesn't matter I mean, it doesn't seems bad at all the older and older you get. 15 and 18 yeah, big dif but let's say, 1245 and 1248 years old. Doesn't seems like a lot now! Heh, I hope everything works out the way you guys want it. I wish I could go to the wedding. hah.

Dude, congrats. Whatever you do don't touch her until you get married... just kidding. Best of luck and I wish I was there to see the wedding and get me a girl who is single, thats if its a big wedding like in the Wedding Crashers, but most likely its going to be a small wedding, but hey good luck with the plans.

David, dont worry about point number 3. I met my gf on hotornot.com, but did talk heaps on msn before meeting. The point is you's have met, heaps! so does it really matter if you first met online?

I agree bigbob, it's fine to meet someone online but if your dating someone online you've never met, that's a little silly.

CONGRATS !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Although I think that you guys might be too young for marriage but since you are both christian (I think) then it will work out great! But... are you even ready for it financially? If you ever have a baby make sure you in good financial standings cause those things are expensive lol. About the house the best thing to do would be to take out a loan if your thousands of dollars from it. An appartment will do fine though. As they say everything happens for a reason so I'm sure whatever you decide to do and what place to get will work out great.

Yeah we're both big christians, probably the main reason we've been together so far is that we've involved god in our marriage, and beleive it or not, we've both been saving "it" for marriage. We'll be real set financially, I don't see that as being a problem at all. And since we're both smart with out money, there wont be any useless spending of things we don't need such as junk food, cigarrettes/alcohol, addictive and expensive hobbies, etc.

Not sure if America has it, but here you can move into a house, pay say your $200/w rent, and after 10 years or so, you own the house and the land. Its almost like you pay it off slowly.

God...Australia is cheap to live, average house here is probably US $250,000. Takes about 30 years with payments of US $1,300 a month.

I dont know houses prices for sure, but I think its alot cheaper here with house prices. I guess it depends 'where' exactly your talking about.

I live in a somewhat expensive town to live in, but it pays off because the crime rate is really low here. I think there has only been like 1 killing in the past 20 years that I know of...though the population here is only 3800 people.

Like I said, it is a little more expensive to live here if you have a house. In my opinion though, Prescott WI (where I live), is probably one of the best places to live in the united states. Low crime rate, no animal attacks or deaths from poisonous bugs, never have had a tornado (and according to indians, it's impossible for a tornado to strike in my town), no severe weather, etc. Only bad thing is cold winters and somewhat hot summers but that's the way it is everywhere around wisconsin and minnesota.

Why do they say tornados cant strike there?

Dont worry about weather extremes, here in Aus, some of the bottom half is on fire whilst some of the top half is flodding.

They say it because it's lower grounds and 2 rivers meet...I don't see how that would matter but we've never had a tornado in my town so it must be somewhat true (or a coincidence).

Ah yeah. Well tornados are from high preassure and low preassure systems combining or something right?
So maybe if yous are in a little bit of a gully kind of thing, if the two systems did combine there, the air flow going in different directions disturbes the creation of a tornado.. If that makes sense.

Just don't live in kansas or oklahoma and you will be fine But there is no stopping mother nature's natural disasters whether it's a flood, tornado, hurricane, fire.... One way or another... no one = safe!
