I'll agree with this. I think people look for any topic to make an ABC thread about now.... even if the topic can't be sustained for more than 2 times through the alphabet.

I wouldn't mind getting rid of a few of them.

I'm one of those members, that like ABC game threads. These threads might not be "quality", but you have to admit that bring some more activity on the board and they can keep bringing activity for long, because they can repeat the ABC order again and again. If you think that ABC threads are lame, you should consider as lame all those "predict what (insert a topic here) the user below you" and other game threads (we have tons of them too).
My point is that game threads, like ABC threads etc, are important for every posting site, because they boost up activity. At least, that's what I've seen so far by being on vizzed and on other forums.

If we had to reduce the ABC threads, then we should reduce the other game threads too (if we want to be fair), and that would bring a domino of closing gaming threads. I personally think there doesn't need to be a limit on the number of ABC threads, but the number of posts one can make in ABC threads. Too many people make it their top way of posting, and after a few times it gets stale. Either that or leave it be.

I love the ABC Threads. Sometimes I use the Movie, Music and Television ones to find shows to watch that I may never have heard of before. I agree with everybody else though. If the thread is bad it will eventually die. Plus it brings activity, so it's definitely not a bad thing. The Forums are supposed to have some fun, and that's what those threads bring.

noelia : Agreed but I think she is more so talking about the ones that are for a very niche category that can not be used for more than one or two rounds. These may bring activity but sometimes they just find the old letter used before and use it because there is nothing more. I, like you, like ABC games but when they are too specific that is when they get bad. Or when there are many that are not very good quality.

Personally I like the ABC threads so no I don't think they're too many.

I also agree with Noelia. I am another member who in fact favorited MOST if not ALL ABC threads. Although sometimes they become repetitive, it's still fun to post and trying to find something different. NOT ALL ABC threads are repetitive...they're many that I find endlessly fun!
