I'm gonna regret this, but here goes (i blaim you Lieutenant if this becomes a flame war)

Some of these people are judging him way to harshly (regarding the usa public and some of the comments made to that article)...a dog is just an animal like any other animal - which, believe it or not, so are bugs, cows, chicken, etc.

If the liberals can forgive a murderer, why can't they forgive this man?

Some of the people said that if he's capable of killing an animal, he's capable of killing humans - saying that a person who is capable of killing animals is also capable of killing humans is complete bogus! Farmers slaughter Cows, hunters kill their prey, it's judging to say they are capable of murder!

Adolf Hitler had feelings for animals, was a vegetarian and there's a picture of him with his dog and he's actually happy in the picture - if anything, animal rights activists are more capable of murder because as soon as you treat dogs and humans the same way, than killing a human is just like killing an animal.

Some people are considering these pitbulls innocent, guess what else is innocent? Babies, but we in the USA kill them like cattle every day with abortion...ironic that liberals are against animal cruelty but are for abortion.

I dont have time to read the whole article, but "helping to kill pit bulls that did not fight aggressively.". Now, i dont know heaps about dogs, but yes, pitbulls are used for fighting. They are very violent dogs and in australia you need a licence to own an 'american pitbull' (different from regular ones).

Fiar enough, hes going to jail but I hate the way the article protrays him. "helping to kill pit bulls that did not fight aggressively." If a dog dosnt fight aggressivly then its going to be basicly dead at the end of the fight. Killing, or 'putting down' as its called, dogs that are near death is a right thing to do. But yes, the dog fighting is illegal. Wait.. so is street drags, and they kill more people and possibly dogs every year than what dog fights do. If this guy was financing steet drags, do you think he'd be recieving the same punishments? I wouldnt think so.

I usually enjoy seeing celebs going to jail to, but this was a little ridiculous. Almost 2 years in prison, almost a million dollar fine, and he got fined worst than anyone involved only because of his status (and because the judge was an animal rights activist).

He looks like he was in a gang. Next story NFL players are going to use steroids. Who hasn't every sport uses it just not the NFL yet.

Anyone who ever does any illegal stuff know that there is a chance they get cought, and when they do, they will get owned.

Maybe Vick should be sentenced to run a dog pound for 24 months with supervision or something, then he'll get closer to dogs instead of making them fight each other to the death :/

the fact that he's a celebrity should only mean that he gets more jail time. that guy killed animals and taking lives deserves a harsher punishment than 23 months in prison. he got less years than the number of dogs he killed; it doesn't make sense. the punishment for animal abuse should be much harsher than it is.

But there just animals, every time you eat meat an animal was killed for that. Years ago people didn't make a big deal about animals being killed but now all of a sudden animals are considered equal to humans. There was this one lady here in the USA who was trying to pass a law which allows someone to marry a Monkey No lie

Davideo: there is a big difference (at least in North America) between "animals" and "pets".

Dogs are considered pets by most people and are therefore excluded from the okay to be killed category. Cows, chickens, pigs etc are seen as food are okay to be killed, although they must be raised and killed in a "humane manner" (I know.... the term seems strange but I think you know what I'm trying to get at).

I know plenty of people that treat their pets like part of the family and would go to great lengths to protect them.

And finally, killing animals for meat has a social benefit. It feeds millions of people everyday. Dog fighting has very little social benefit (except for the few involved) and most people see it as cruel thing to do to dogs.

I personally am torn on animal rights. I think some people take it too far, PETA, that say having animals as pets or eating animals for food is cruel and we should never do it and other people have absolutely no respect for animals and treat them like something we can do anything to. I think there is a line in between those 2 extremes that is reasonable.

Well you have to understand, Humanity is and always will be corrupt. Back then, when we didn't have TECHNOLOGY, we were just part of the cycle of life, eat or be eaten. We were born without a tough hide, no weapons or claws, but we had the mind. We fashioned spears and axes and other crude weapons to hunt as part of the cycle. Unfortunately, we went too far. Killing animals is completely okay, as long as it's just for the benefit of living, and only as many as you need. In today's modern society, we kill for the hell of it. We have gone past corrupt to... TPURROC! The cycle is destroyed, animals imprisoned just to be eaten, and the world almost dominated. Animal rights? What animal rights? In a world like ours, animal rights will NEVER exist. Why? Because we dug ourselves into a hole. We are unable to survive without the system we have today (Except for the lucky few who weren't completely corrupted, specifically modern day tribes.)
10 Bucks says that if all of the sudden, all our systems for surviving would suddenly disappear, what would happen? Over half the ENTIRE human race almost INSTANTLY wiped out.

Anyway, animals have more rights now than they've ever had. Kids in my town a few years ago went to jail for attempting to kill their dog and got about a year in jail. Another person in a nearby town recently beat someone up near a bar and left them for dead...that's considered attempted murder and the guy got less than 6 months.

Now if you look at that situation, looks to me that animals are almost to the point of having as much rights as us and the more our society becomes liberal, the more rights animals will get. And as we get closer to the end times, society will infact become more liberal, that is gauranteed (as it shows).

Yeah, I've noticed that animals are getting a ton of rights which is good. I wouldn't have my Shih Tzu if the original owner didn't feel bad for it (she was always away and the dog was lonely. Now he's here hanging out with me )

That's the thing abut a Dog, there memory span I've heard is less than a few days long. So this basically means that if I had a dog which I madly loved for 8 years and I got rid of him, within a weeks time he would have forgotten completely who I was. You can do all the research you want, I've read about their memory span and it's pretty low.

It's been 4 years and he still misses his real owner a bit. Otherwise, he's very happy which is good though. I know his memory isn't good just like normal dogs but he's still adorable :3. When he was a puppy (saw a picture of him) he could fit in the palm of your hand.

I suppose he's been telling you that he misses his previous owner?
