I have been thinking a lot about what I am going to do after my graduation, but I have no idea if I should go with what I want to do.  My parents are wanting to move back to Texas when me and my brother graduate (we graduate the same day next year) and I was thinking about staying where I am right now, but I have no idea where I will live if they move to Texas.  I would like to stay in Tennessee, but it is very hard to find a job here.  My other brother from Texas told me that he could get me a job there.  I do not know what to do.  I do not want to leave my friends to be able to get a job down in Texas.  If I do get a job in Tennessee, which is a 10% chance, I might stay with one of my friends house till I get some money, but the problem is, I do not have a car.  I want to get a job very badly and if I run out of time here in Tennessee, I might have to go to Texas to get a job there.  I haven't thought about college and I do not know anything about it.  I do not know if it is just like high school (you know, in high school, you would go to school and then go back home at the end of the day).  I need some advice of what I should do.  I am starting to tell my friends about this and see what they think about it.

I know how hard it is to get a job nowadays, as well as the pain of leaving your friends. But as u said, it is a very low chance you'll get a job in TN, but if you're being offered a job, its best to take it. Just try to keep in touch with your friends like I did. We're moving so I got their numbers. We do text every now n then. But back to the point >.> if your brother is basically HANDING you a job, take it. Even if it means moving to Texas, and leaving your friends. If they're really your friends, they'd ask for your number or your address or something. And I know if someone offered my sister a job, she would be like "H*** YEAH I'LL TAKE THAT JOB IN TEXAS!". I'm certain that'd be her response. But hey, I'm a kid and I don't know much about anything, but this is just my two cents.

Pretty much what Super said Marc. I've lived in Louisiana my whole life and I have 1 to zero friends. I'm what you call a hermit crab, because I locked myself away from the outside world due to some judgement, but I've also had a job once in Nebraska and I made a few friends there. So I can relate. It's hard to get jobs these days thanks to a president who sucks at his job. My opinion, if you are offered a job there. I would take it, but then there's the problem of where you are going to stay. I would talk to one of your closest friends and their parents about staying there and paying rent to stay there. To give you that feeling of actually living in the real world until you're old enough or possibly find you a place to stay of your own, but if you have no other choice to move. Get a job there and save up all the while searching on the internet for jobs in TN and stay in contact with your friends. You'll have better chance that way.

Natas :
supersonic1998 :

I would take the job that he can get for me, but it won't give me a lot of money.  It would be like a cashier or a pizza store or something like that.  I just need to know what college is, I don't know if it is like a place to stay in and learn what you want to do or it is just like high school, where you go to school and go home at the end of the day (what I just said previously).

Marcmoney : college lets u stay on campus. I think most do anyway. College is sorta like high school. I'm not certain on everything since I've never been to college, but I'm positive they let you live on campus. And it depends on what college you go to. I mean you go to a college of whatever you wanna do. For instance, if you liked the arts, you would go to a institute or college or whatever of art.

and even if it is like a job at pizza hut or McDonald's, its still a job. And getting 9 dollars an hour is better than getting 0 an hour.

Well what I really suggest is this:  get some knowledge about what a college is and how it functions, if you have cousins, neighbors or friends who went to college or are still going, just make a contact with them(telephone). Or you can ask in your school(to your teachers) where you are in right now. You ask your teachers how many variations of college there are and what are their distinct features(if you can live there, any cost or charge). And you can have a sit up with your Parents and talk about it, tell them what you really want to do.

I plan on going to college for pharmacy. If that doesn't work I'm gonna work at Piggly Wiggly and rent an apartment with my best friends and smoke weed until I kill myself at 40. You should try for college, but if it doesn't work just go with the apartment and Piggly Wiggly option. The rest is optional.

supersonic1998 : Actually, on-site housing depends on which college you choose to attend. Some colleges, mostly community colleges, do not have on-site or off-site housing. College is not like high school because you have to decide for yourself what you want to study for. Marc, concerning how you plan to pay for college, take a look and see if you qualify for financial aid. How much you qualify for does depends on your circumstances. Also, it is highly recommended that you talk with an Academic Adviser. He or she can help you figure out the process --believe me when I say I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I started college back in '09.
