I know that the stereo type for a person who likes to play video games is large and unhealthy but I do work out and run so I was wondering if other people don't believe in this stereo type and work out from time to time

Well I'd like to consider myself a gamer but then I don't because of the stereotype, but then there is this one blog I found and like 5 people say they consider themselves to be Gamer but one wears a suit to work, other is an athlete, and just like 3 other regular dudes who also say they like to stay in pretty good shape as well. So I'm fine calling myself one, but in certain situations I won't, certain "(social)circles".

UserMike : I am definitely a gamer. Not the kind that plays online all the time because I don't have the money to justify doing that, despite how cheap it is. But I definitely work out. I have a specific hour long weight lifting routine for Monday-Thursday. Each day focuses on different muscle groups. I run about 4 miles on Fridays (I was on the cross country team in high school), and use Saturdays to relax. But I still play games almost everyday. My workouts are during my off hours where I don't have class for an hour.

I'll guarantee you that if you met me in person as in this second, I don't fit this scenario. Sure, I do admit I'm a video game addict, however, I've been lifting weights and training in martial arts for the past 13 years. I suppose I don't fall into the stereo type then? lol.

You know, I think the stereotype of a "fat/overweight gamer" has gone out the window. Yeah there are fat people who do play a lot, but I think the majority of us gamers are in decent shape. You almost have to be to play certain games, like the action ones. If you take a look at pro gamers, none of them are fat. None. In order to compete they have to be in shape, let their blood flow well throughout their bodies, have a quick mind. It seems the better shape you're in the better you can play hard games.

For the record, I'll say that I also weight-lift (body building) and run. I'm the 3rd fastest person in my unit over here.
