I don't accept evolution and I never will. If someone else wants to believe it, then that is there preference. By the way, Evolution is not science, but rather a religion. Just saying.

Actually, I don't think we have to believe in evolution at all to be "smart" or to do a service to society. People constantly tell me when they find out I am a Creationist, "It doesn't line up with everything we've found out!"  No, mister, your theories don't line up with what God has told us. Well, when it comes down to it, all you really have to do is ask yourself a simple question: Would you rather believe the Creator of the Universe that this happened, when he went such great lengths to show himself to you (the road to Calvary, Bible, etc.), or a bunch of theories passing as fact that are probably biased towards Creation? I have heard people say God used evolution as his tool of Creation. There are a few things wrong with this: the second God intervenes, evolution is no longer evolution because it is no longer random. Another is that God took six 24-hour days to do this; scientists claim that evolution took millions upon trillions of years (though the earth is only around 10,000 years old, give or take a few. I could prove it to you, but that isn't the point).

I believe that in many ways science backs up the Bible. In some ways it gives supplementary information because while the bible was being written and put together- I don't think God found urgently important to include exactly how he created everything. He probably only wanted to include the "bread and meat" that we need to live Holy- He said it and it was done. He didn't need to put the process of what was being done (I hope this makes sense lol I'm terrible with words)- by process I mean the exact biology and chemistry of what is going on.

I do believe some parts of the theory of evolution are true, wouldn't God want his creations be able to change and adapt to survive? However, I don't believe that he left everything up to random chance. The passing of genes relies heavily on chance and also mutation happen randomly as well. There are many extraordinary aspects in nature that seem too complicated to just happen by chance. Like different species working together to survive (A common example would be bees pollinating flowers in exchange for nectar/food. A more complex example would be the Maned Wolf relies on the bitter lobeira fruit to get rid of deadly kidney worms it contracts from it's food, in turn by passing through the wolf's digestive system- the seeds from the fruit have a higher chance of being germinated and growing. Also, leaf cutter ants collect the dung with the seeds and use it to fertilize their fungus gardens- planting the seeds). There are lots of examples that seem too complex and spectacular to "just happen".

Here's a very good article that even got me thinking about how I view Creation vs. Evolution: http://www2.biglobe.ne.jp/~remnant/creation.htm

Dragonlord Stephi: II Peter 3:8 -> "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day" [KJV]. I just wanted to point out that they were not 24-hour days or days as we humans know it. So the world being trillions of years old is possible.

tRIUNE :

I know you said this a long time ago, but I just read it. And I can't help but notice that you say evolution is impossible if god exists, but then you say he could have used evolution but didn't need to. That would mean that evolution is possible even if god exists. No one is saying that evolution had to happen if god exists, only that it is happening in the world that we live in.

darkreaver101 :

Evolution is science whether you like it or not. The theory is based on observations made in the real world using the scientific method. You're simply dismissing the theory because it doesn't agree with your religious beliefs. And the fact that you're so clearly close-minded is disappointing.

Dragonlord Stephi :

The Earth is much older than 10,000 years old.

soxfan849 : Actually I was saying that if you believe in God and evolution at the same time, then you're limiting God.

Wouldn't it be limiting god to say that he couldn't have used evolution? I don't understand how believing in both is limiting god.

soxfan849 : I'm basing that on scripture which says God spoke things into existence. He wouldn't need to evolve things from something else if he spoke them into existence.

It's still possible though that he could use evolution if he wanted to, but he wouldn't have the need to.
