Yep. My own dad has backhanded me twice in my life. It's not a big deal now, but it pissed me off back then.

My fiance takes his grumpiness out on me all the time and puts a damper on my day. I just give it right back or tell him to knock it off or I will kill him in his sleep (not seriously). It's annoying, but it's not really that big of a deal.

I know he shouldn't, but he was raised in a different age where it was okay to do that kinda stuff (my folks are rather old). It stopped when I got in his face and told him that if he ever tried it again I'd have his ass in jail for child abuse (I was 15 at the time). Never laid a hand on me since, but more out of respect than fear of punishment (my statement only pissed him off). I had the guts to stand up to him, that was what mattered.

I do not really care when people rant about their day's to me. I find it interesting most of the time. That being said if anyone has any problems I am a good listener I would listen to them.

Elara : Yeah, my Dad was raised in an abusive home and I guess he thought it was alright to hit us kids and my Mom. People like that make me sick. I eventually stood up to my Dad to, but it was when I was an adult. When I was younger I was too scared to stand up to him.
