Have you had someone ask or beg you for trust points? How does that make you feel and how do or would you react?

Yes, I've been asked for trust points many times within my time here. Personally, I find it quite rude and slightly annoying because trust points should be given to people who deserve them....not asking/begging/bribing to get them.

Someone recently annoyed me for several days begging for trust points before and after telling them exactly what I said in this thread, so I subtracted their trust points and deleted them from my friends list. Normally I wouldn't delete the person for asking once....but if they did constantly I would.

When I started out someone asked me to rate them.  Silly me for not knowing what rating did, I did rate them.  So I realized I just gave them trust points a long time after I did that.  Thankfully that person is inactive so it doesn't matter.  The person just stopped going on vizzed after a while and I forgot who the person is.  Now I know not to rate if people ask for it.

I have this nasty habit of rating people down if they bug me too many times for a trust point. It annoys me.

I wish people would realize that trust points aren't popularity points. Trust points should reflect your commitment to the board and right now they don't.

Of course the system is going to change eventually and we'll fix who is and isn't a trusted member so that the people who really deserve it will have it.

But in that case, like geeo said, TP just become popularity points in that case. Friends just hand friends TP without it really mattering what the person did on the site. That's why there are a lot more trusted people on the site than are really necessary. Even some of the trusted people here still act like complete noobs (and not the good kind).

If a newbie asks for trust points, I let them off telling them the rules of Trust points and how they work, and why asking is a bad thing.


If it's a member, I will subtrack 1 point for every time they ask. By the time someone is a member, they should know the rules and there is no excuse for it.
