Hello

Today I have been exploring the Internet looking for some various software, and during my travels I came across some online Pokémon RPGs, which reminds me of an old question...

Lets say, hypothetically, we existed inside the world of Pokémon. Now the Pokémon world would best resemble the Anime, and NOT the games, so it actually takes time and effort to train to be the best, and lets say the world of Pokémon we lived in resembled ours geographically, but not politically. Lets also say the Pokémon caps at the end of generation 3, for arguments sakes.

What would you LIKE to do, but what do you think is realistic for you to be actually doing? Would you live alongside them, become a trainer, breed them, etc. As well, what kinds would you go with specifically, but what would be the most likely? 

Furthermore, if we had to place all the Pokémon up to the end of the third generation across the globe, where do you think the more obscure Pokémon would reside? 

Personally, I think I would look for a career in Pokemon breeding. Sure, battling them is fun and all, but I think if Pokemon were to exist, they should be lovingly cared for. It would sure be interesting to see them grow up from a young Mareep to a healthy Ampharos.

As for locations, I think the way the 3rd gen was set up places them quite nicely. Clampearl live underground, Nosepass live in the mountains, Wurmple live in the grass, stuff like that. I can't really think of many Pokemon that were thrown in there for the heck of it without taking location into account.

That would be nice...I would basically simply travel around with a few dragon Pokemon, as I know for a fact I can find some of them. I would not be a full fledged trainer personally, simply a nomad of sorts. I always felt the dragon's inner knowledge and strength was whom my friends would be, and where my journey truly lay...

I would definitely be a pokemon breeder because you would get to be around a ton of cute little baby pokemon and i would find out how in the hell can ghost pokemon breed but the most obscure pokemon would be in somewhere like madagascar and i would mostly be around ice pokemon because they are awesome!!!

I think I might even be a breeder while maybe doing some battles. Give me chance to sit on a my rocking chair with my trusty Honchkrow at my side, watching young Charmanders grow into Charmeleons, and subsequently, Charizards. Eventually I'd have bred a pretty powerful team, and might try to face the Elite Four just to say I did. I think I'd live in Hoenn, with a supplier in Johto who sends me rare eggs not found in Hoenn.

Redrunelord : actually that is pretty awesome. -kind like a lone Ranger (inspiration from Aragorn from LOTR) also since Salamence is my favorite Pokmon, "riding on the back of it"...
I would love to just travel from place to place like that using dragon pokemon, but otherwise I would be a breeder who also trains his pokemon, im not out to be the best, but don't underestimate me

UserMike : Indeed...riding on a Salamence would be cool...I would also take influence from Drake 9Orange League leader) and wear my strongest Pokemon around my neck...but I would wear an awesome black cloak/black robes, and carry around a Katana if I could get away with it, lol.

My preferred team would include:

Salamence
Kingdra
Dragonite

I'm not sure how I would fill the rest of my team, but those three are necessities for me...but yeah, I would focus heavily on dragon pokemon and a lone ranger type thing...perhaps I would also raise a few other Pokemon I like...

I'd be a Gym Leader. I'm too lazy to travel everywhere ( ) but I would like the battles, and I'm pretty good at tactics. I wouldn't mind taking on challengers every now and then.

WarpStarFerret : That would be cool. Any ideas on what element or style you would generally focus on?

Redrunelord : That's easy. I'd make a Sandstorm team with nothing but Ground/Steel/Rock types. I already know how to make such a team without having any more than 2 Pokemon sharing a weakness. I.E., I know how to make such a team where there's at MOST 2 Pokemon weak to water, 2 weak to ground, etc., and I can even make the team capable of covering each others weaknesses.

WarpStarFerret : Alright, but the only thing is as this is happenign in the real world, finding the Pokemon would be a tad troublesome...indeed, that is the big flaw with my dragon friends, as I would need to search long and hard for them...I expect I wouldn't have much trouble finding two of the Pokemon but a full team would be...troublesome.

Redrunelord : No problem, I already live in a desert. I just have to walk outside and look around for half my team, and I wouldn't have to look very far for the other half.

Ok man, better you than me. I never been particularly fond of the heat, hence why a secondary I would use is likely Ice or water (like the Kingdra). I guess that's why I don't focus much on pure fire based Pokemon, lol.

I would like to see Nintendo actually tackle this concept though...for the final Pokemon game, turn the real world into the Pokemon world by mixing it with an open world concept, like say Minecraft. Technologically, it isn't feasible, but would be an interesting project.

That would be cool, and I would go for a nomadic concept myself...the only thing I really disagree about is just finding a stronger Pokemon...how does that usually work out, lol. I don't know, but I feel in the real world, it would be nice to have at least a few constants with you, and focus on making them stronger. If Pokemon were real, the concept of a trained one being stronger than a wild one would be true more so than in the games.

I would be a breeder, i would go with dark and fire type pokemon. as those are my favorite type.

I'd love to live beside some of them (at least one Heracross). We'd probably train together with the Heracross teaching me how to fight of course. I think that'd doable.

I'd imagine that the most barren places would be where the rarest Pokes reside.

NotJon : It sort of depends what you mean by Barren. If you mean scarcely populated, or difficult areas to access, then yeah. If you just mean something like the desert in California, I doubt so. It is interesting, though, on how the Pokemon would be distributed throughout the world. Where do you think Bagon or Dratini would live?

Hm, interesting question.

If Pokemon World were real, I'd most likely be a Pokemon researcher, like Professor Oak, and a Psychic Pokemon Gym Leader. Studying Pokemon would benefit me as a Pokemon Leader....and I could potentially discover unheard of types.

I've ALWAYS fancied the Psychic and Grass types since the beginning of Pokemon, but I'd master the Psychic types as a Gym Leader.

My elite team would consist of Mewtwo, Mew, Kadabra, Exeggutor, Gardevoir, and Mr Mime.
