You just pick a team and battle against each other? Sounds like a good idea in theory. It at least gets rid of the training and randomness that you find in the regular Pokemon games.

I used to play when NetBattle was pretty big. I played on one of the special RPG servers where it was just like the regular games. Shoddy doesn't have a server like that as far as I know. Does this one have a server like that?

I do play Pokemon Online, and I am a fairly adept pokemon strategist by now because of it (I have beaten a lot of people, but lost a lot too!). This game is not, however, an MMO let's clarify that firstly. It's just a Battle Simulator integrated into some IRC-like chatrooms (not normal chatrooms, they can be scripted amongst other things). It is primarily for people who want to skip hunting all over god's green earth and leveling tediously and get right to the fight. Especially people who like to customize their teams and strategize.
